My husband does not interact with my daughter that much and is always watching TV. how do I explain her that it is important for him to spend time with her as well?

I agree with what Debolina suggested. Get the family out of the house. Go to the playground. Perhaps your husband can teach your daughter something, cycling or swimming or some sports (not sure what your husband and daughter may enjoy). Anyway, can also highlight the fact the lack of communication to your husband. He may not realize that he has not been actively engaging your daughter.

I have been married for over 3 years now, but I still feel no love for my husband. Plus, he gets extremely agitated and sometimes even violent if I merely refer to his parents. I feel trapped in this relationship that is clearly not going anywhere! What should I do?

Try talking to him when he is in a calmer mood. Of course, such persons never realize their mistakes and justify their anger. Tell him that a relationship doesn't work this way. If he still doesn't change his behavior, then there is no point in continuing with this marriage. Think it over!

My father and mother had a love marriage, but now they are against me chasing a boy I like. How do I tell them that it is not fair?

if they had a love marriage but are now against you having one, i am sure something is bothering them. please talk to them and ask them why they are opposed to this boy. or is it that they are opposed to you having a love marriage? if it is the former and they have a problem with only him, ask them their reasons. maybe you will get a new perspective on him and the relationship. if they are against love marriage for you in general, you already have your answer ready :)

My wife is always busy with my parents and kids and has started ignoring me. Is she really that busy or could there be a reason for her behaviour?

Since you say that your wife is busy with your parents and kids, I'm assuming that she doesn't work outside the home. In that case, you have to understand that it is really a much demanding job. I have just one baby and I already feel tired running around her. You mention that your wife takes care of the "kids" -- I can only imagine how troubled she would be feeling doing the household chores and running after kids who want to play and have fun all day long. It is natural for her to get tired at the end of the day. If, however, you and your wife are equal contributors to the household chores and outside work, then it is worth sitting down and talking out the issues. Kids often bridge the gap between spouses and rearing them can also amount to some tension in them. It is in best interest of both of you to take some time out and clarify any concerns that each of you might have. Remember, honest communication solves most problems. Good luck to you! :)

My 1 year old is going on his first flight. Any tips that can make his travel smoother? I am afraid he might experience pain in the ears.

For ear pain, it is recommended to feed the baby something during take-off and landing. You can either breastfeed her or give her something to munch on. If the flight is a long one, I'd recommend having some of her favorite toys to keep her entertained. Kids can get cranky or hyperactive if they're not sleeping. Also, if you have some new toys, in-flights are when you can introduce them -- the excitement of unwrapping the new toy and figuring it out keeps them amused to no end. Just be sure it's not something they can't figure out. These days, a lot of parents resort to electronic gadgets to keep kids busy during flights. While they do draw raised brows from fellow passengers, don't feel too guilty about it -- you're just trying to keep yourself and everyone else sane.

For those who have regular meals at home, how much does your grocery and household necessities (like tissue paper / laundry soaps etc) add up to every week? I'm a fulltime housewife and I spend about $150. In my home theres only me, hubby and toddler. Friends and family drop by occasionally. Sometimes i feel it's too much but i cook everyday. And i also buy toiletries from cheaper shops like Venus or CK. I will wake up very early twice or thrice a week to go to wet market to get fresh meats and seafood at cheaper price. But I tend to buy organic foods, bigger prawns (small ones cheaper) or more nutritious fish like fresh salmon and codfish sometimes.

We also spend 150-200 per week for 2 primary school children and 3 adults. We spend less for non veg and end up spending more for fruits and vegetables. Adults eat less carbs and more Vegetables and fruits. We also cook all the meals every day at home. Other than vegetables most of the items we buy from NTUC.

I am not very fond of my husband's sister, but she is his favourite and they discuss everything under the sun. How do I create a distance between the two?

Instead of trying to create a distance between them, how about trying to accept her? What is it that you don't like about her? I think creating a distance between your husband and his sister would not help solve anything. It may even backfire and causes your husband to become resentful towards you. The bond between siblings are forged since young and it is actually very good that your husband has a family member he could relate so well to. I would suggest that you try and get to know her better? It is quite likely that she is very similar to your husband, allowing them to bond so well. Put in some effort and you may learn to like her too. However, if that is not possible, simply just leave them be. Unless she does something that is damaging your relationship with your husband, I personally don't see any harm. Take care!

i have a fever now 38-38.3C.is it just me that I'm selfish but my inlaws is insisting that they should put the baby to sleep beside them and to use formula milk. and i also ask my pedia and she said its okay to bm just to say to my inlaws that its safe cause they are insisting. Is it normal i have this feeling of selfishness towards my baby? i just want to be a good mom.

you are a good mom. it's good to continue breastfeeding baby even if you are sick.
