how old is your kid when he / she started to go to school

my daughter was 3 when she started kindergarten. this is the level that kids go to after the playschool years, but my daughter did not go through playschool. also, this was her entry into the proper academic space, as this is part of school, though the youngest year

You can talk to your daughter like any other normal topic, don't be embarrassed. You can visit a very good website, Menstrupedia, which will give her a good insight about periods. Its a normal process and she should be comfortable to confide in you. All the best.

My kid has some enamel on her two front teeth wearing off...I checked with her doc n she says nothing can be done until the teeth fall off.She said some toddlers are prone to it.Anyone else's kids have this n what did you do?

One of my friend's friend's' baby had a condition where some enamel used to come off. They showed other dentist who gave her some enamel preserving paste. Since, enamel is the hardest substance in our body, you should take it seriously if this problem has occurred. Enamel is a mineral that coats the teeth and it cannot be re-grown. But you can control further loss by cutting down on any beverages that you are giving to your kid that has acid or too much of sugar. Cut down your kid's intake of aerated drinks, sugary and starchy snacks, citrus fruits, like some kids have the habit of sucking lemon. I suggest, consult a good dentist and do whatever he tells you to and keep utmost care of dental health of your child. when did you first talk to your daughter about periods? what is a suitable age now to discuss it, before she gets her first periods? my daughter is 9.

My daughter is still too young to talk about periods but I do remember my mother informing about periods and talking about it. I was in 7th standard when I first got my chums, and she had already told me how it all goes and what happens. Since, many girls do get their periods by the age of 10, you can discuss it with her in a few months to come. Also, at what age you got your first period can also influence her timing. Also, you can check her syllabus, and see that in her science subject are they introduced with the chapter that speaks about menstruation. If yes, it will be easy for you to explain all. I was reading reports that girls who have more fat in their body or whose BMI's are more than their age tend to get their periods as early as 7 or 8. But, I don't know how much credibility these reports hold, as I have in my own home seen that my cousin who was skinny and had apt growth according to her age, and she had periods at the age of 10. So, you never know 100 percent what causes periods to come early or late, so I guess, if your child is mature enough to understand and take all the information without getting a little inhibited, then you can discuss with her, else wait for sometime. Or, better you can bring up the topic with other mothers and have a group of her friends together and can educate them. Can I still register my child for P1 if she did not complete the recommended immunisation requirements?

Yes they will still let you register but you would need to provide the complete immunisation form soon after the jabs is completed. If possible get it done as soon as possible to prevent any issue with registration. Get it done soon!!

My son told me he saw his classmate shoplifting at their school bookshop. What should I tell him to do about it? #shoplifting

Definitely ask your child to speak to his Friend and return back the stuff to the school book store and apologise
