Hi guys! My lo is 6 days old today and she is always latching on me from 12mn to 5am at least even though in between isn't her feeding time. Does anyone experience this? How can I adjust her schedule? Is that also the reason why when I pump I don't have enough breast milk?

Low milk supply

I’m 1 month in. Been doing pumping every 3 hrs + power pump once a day in the morning. Taking legendairy supplements, tried cash cow for >10 days and now I’m on pump princess & lactivist. Also taking lactation cookies. I’m using spectra dual compact. Supply been 30-60ml per pump. Can’t seem to go up. Is this normal at this stage? How can I increase my milk supply? Is there anyone who had the same situation and eventually milk increase overtime? I’m wondering is there something wrong that it can’t increase. I think most people at this stage is pumping over 100ml?? Could it be I have insufficient glandular tissue or should I try a different pump? Also would like to ask whether pumping 2 hrly helps. Personally I feel 2hrly is pretty intense. But if it helps I’m willing to do it, its just that midnight sometimes I might overslept to 4 hour… Do share with me your bf journey! Thank youuu

drink more fluids, eat nutritious foods. try to be relaxed as you pump, don't focus on the amount throughout the pumping session. I'm assuming you are exclusively pumping?

Breastfeeding low supply

Hi I’m in my 2nd week post partum. My milk supply has been very low, per pump both side only 15ml can't seem to increase. Is this normal? Will it slowly increase? I'm taking sunflower lecithin & cash cow fron legendairy for 4th day now, nothing changed. I pump every 3hourly. Anyone had the same experience? Please share with me your experience, whether your milk did increase!

Hey, at 2 weeks post partum that output is actually still pretty normal because you're so early on - supply typically takes a few more weeks to establish properly. The good thing is you're pumping consistently every 3 hours, which is exactly what helps build supply. I'd say give the supplements another week or two before expecting to see changes, and in the meantime might be good to check with your PD or a lactation consultant just to make sure latch and positioning are spot on, because sometimes that makes a bigger difference than we think. Most mums I know who stuck with frequent pumping did see their supply creep up gradually from week 3 onwards, so you're probably on the right track already.

How much milk do you pump in each storage bag? How to manage if baby drinks more or less than amount stored per feed? Thinking can we pour partial amount out of one bag to warm after thawing in chiller for a day and top up if need.. If not enough can thaw frozen bag directly? Thanks!!

how to know which brand to choose for breast pumping?

Honestly, it really depends on whether you're planning to pump full-time, part-time, or just occasionally, because that changes everything lah. If you're doing it regularly, a good electric pump like Spectra or Medela is worth the investment because they're efficient and gentle, but if it's just top-ups, a manual one saves money and is more portable. I'd say talk to your PD or the lactation consultant at KKH (if you delivered there) because they usually have recommendations based on what worked for other mums, and some can even recommend rental options if you want to try before you buy. What's your situation like, full-time work or more flexible?

Lack of connection

How long will it take for a mother to know how to take care of her own baby ? My baby 25 days old and I’m under confinement care by my confinement nanny … My nanny , mother in law & helper are taking turns to care for her. Everyone kept telling me they want me to focus on myself first. Im grateful to my family to come in to care for her . But it’s almost close to her1 month and i barely know how to take care of her when the nanny goes . I feel like I don’t bond much with her and she prefers the bottle over my chest. I end up have to exclusively pump only and combine feed her as I’m also under supply. My husband and I have tried to care for her for just 3 hours and we can barely manage as she starts to cry like crazy . I think she can sense we barely can care for her.. We’re trying to do more hands on but sometimes I just feel like I shouldn’t be near her cause I think she can sense my anxiety Any advise … #FTM #pumping #help1sttimemom

I had flat nipples so couldn't breastfeed my first baby. Now i'm pregnant with my second and wondering if there's anything i can do to prepare for breastfeeding and overcome this issue? Thanks in advance!

Flat nipples - how to breastfeed?

Hello mummies! I just delivered bb couple of days ago, and different nurses have been telling me that i cant latch bb well and he doesn't want to suckle because i have flat nipples. This is quite discouraging. Bb has been so sleepy and refuses to latch – he rather sleep and hasnt been drinking formula milk much too. Anyone with similar experiences and tips? Thanks in advance!
