Constipation Issue During Pregnancy

I am 22 weeks pregnant now and experiencing constipation. I went to a gynecologist, who suggested I take a Fleet enema. Immediately after using it, I felt so comfortable, but I think after two days, the constipation seems to be coming back, though not as seriously as before when sitting was a problem! Is anyone facing the same issue?

Constipation in pregnancy is really common, especially around your stage, so you're definitely not alone. The enema gave you quick relief but it's more of a one-off fix rather than something that tackles the root cause, which is why it tends to come back. I'd suggest checking back with your PD or gynae about longer-term options like stool softeners or increasing fibre and water gradually, since those work better for pregnancy constipation over time. Some mums also find that a bit of gentle walking helps move things along naturally. Glad you're feeling a bit better though, even if it's temporary.

Mummies, Gelish or Normal Manicure? 💅🏻 21 weeks preggo

Ladies, can I check if it’s okay to do Gelish manicure during pregnancy, or is it better to just do normal nail polish? 💅🏻

Both should be fine during pregnancy, but normal manicure might be the safer bet if you're worried about the fumes. Gelish lasts longer so you don't have to go back as often, but the removal process uses stronger chemicals and the UV lamp exposure is something to think about, whereas normal polish is just paint and goes off naturally. I stuck with regular polish during my pregnancies just for peace of mind, but plenty of mums do Gelish without issues, especially if the salon is well ventilated. Whichever you choose, just make sure you're sitting somewhere with good airflow and maybe ask your O&G at your next visit if you want extra reassurance.

Tight belly at 22 weeks only?!

Any recommendations to prevent stretch marks, tightness and also itch? I’m only at 22 weeks. TIA

moisturize regularly, it helps with the itch. but for stretch marks, you can try those oils/creams but it's actually genetic so if you are prone to getting stretch marks, the oils/creams may not help. on the bright side, the stretch marks can heal after you give birth!

nauseous & constipation at 16w+3

anyone feeling nauseous and constipation at 16wplus? i been having this since the start or my second trimester. idk what to do. any home remedies recommendations?

Hi I felt better in week 17. for constipation I drink Milo. Nausea is phrase. ginger tea helps me with it. 😊

High BP in pregnancy needs proper monitoring, so please don't rely on diet or lifestyle changes instead of your medication, your doctor will have you on what's safest for both you and baby right now. High risk pregnancy

Currently 14week plus pregnant, just went to STORK @ KKH for appointment got the bad news for having kidney damage by existing diabetes which is i not aware now need to inject blood thinners injection … feeling very stress and headache of my baby safety also my kidneys can handle the stress by baby growth bigger

discharge during first pregnancy

Hi mummies! This is my first pregnancy and today I noticed that my discharge is creamy. Is it normal to have discharge during pregnancy in the first place? There's no odour, pain, bleeding or anything else concerning, just discharge during pregnancy. I'm currently 15+5 weeks pregnant. I've checked with ChatGPT, and it mentioned that it doesn't sound concerning but I'd love to hear from other mummies and your experiences too. 😬

I haven't personally seen Dr Yong Xiaoqi at KKH, but I know a friend who did her confinement checkup with a paediatrician there and found the whole KKH team quite reasonable about breastfeeding support - they're generally not the type to push formula if you're keen on HL. Your best bet is to call KKH directly or check during your first appointment to get a feel for her approach, since every doctor has their own style and it really depends on what you're hoping for.
