Hello great mom

Hmm, are there any of you who have experienced long-term relationships with your husband when the time for delivery is getting closer? It really feels really sad when my days feel heavy without my husband by my side.

I totally understand how you're feeling, pregnancy can be such an emotional time and it's natural to want your husband close, especially as delivery approaches. Have you had a chat with him about how much you need his presence and support right now, maybe about taking time off work or adjusting his schedule if possible? Sometimes they don't realise how much it matters until we tell them clearly. It's worth being honest about what would help you feel less alone during this period, whether that's more evenings together, attending antenatal classes as a team, or just having him there to listen. Hopefully he can step up and make more space for you these final weeks.

Hello great mom

Baga How is it that it's almost 39 weeks but there are no signs of labor yet? I want to give birth soon and see my little baby 🥲

I really hear you on this. The last stretch of pregnancy can feel quite lonely, especially when your husband is caught up with work or other commitments, and you're dealing with the physical heaviness and emotions on your own. Have you talked to him about how much you need him around during this time, even if it's just in the evenings or weekends? Sometimes they don't realise how much their presence matters until we spell it out. It's worth having that conversation now so you both feel more connected before baby arrives, because honestly those last few weeks are quite precious and you deserve to feel supported.

Selling of this changing mat. Bought extra

Selling of this changing mat. Bought extra

Hey, that's great you're decluttering! You might want to mention what brand it is and whether it's the foldable kind or the big padded one, since parents usually have pretty specific needs depending on their space and setup. Also good to note if it's waterproof or has those raised edges to stop the baby rolling. Those details help potential buyers decide quickly.

Help me with your answers

Hello great mothers, honestly I was really afraid that my child would be born with a low birth weight when I was 9 months pregnant. I had two ultrasounds. The first one said my child's weight was 2.2 grams and The second ultrasound, 3 days later, the doctor said that my child's weight was 1.8 grams. I was very Confused and scared, I want to ask whether the ultrasound results of the baby's weight in the womb can be wrong?? scared... #mohonbantujawabbunda

Hi mama, don't worry, third trimester ultrasound weights can swing quite a bit, so those two readings might both be off the mark! From what I hear, estimates are usually within 15% above or below baby's actual weight, especially near the end of pregnancy, so the difference you're seeing isn't unusual at all. My neighbour had her scan show her baby at almost 7 pounds, but baby came out at 5 pounds 10 ounces, so the ultrasound can definitely be out either way. The thing is, as baby gets bigger and there's less amniotic fluid, it gets trickier for the machine to get an accurate measurement, and positioning matters a lot too. That said, your doctor will have the full picture, they'll look at your fundal height, how you're carrying, and your overall health pattern, not just one number. It's worth bringing both those ultrasound reports to your next appointment and asking your doctor or specialist to explain what they're seeing, since they know your case best and can give you the reassurance you need. Wishing you a smooth delivery ahead!

Hello mummies, has anyone had experience with Dr Fairuz from KKH before?

I haven't personally seen Dr Fairuz at KKH, but I'd suggest asking in the KKH mums Facebook groups or even calling the hospital directly to ask for feedback from other parents who've been under her care. That way you'll get firsthand accounts from mums who've actually delivered or been treated by her, which is usually more helpful than waiting for replies here. Does help to know what you're looking for specifically though - is it for delivery care, postnatal checkups, or something else?

Hello mummies.. anyone had high fluid during 32 weeks?

Hello mummies.. anyone had high fluid during 32 weeks? Just did a scan and the doc said i mite have to re scan again or take my GD test again. Any mummkes encounter this?afi level is 22cm.

I haven't been through this myself, but polyhydramnios (high fluid) at 32 weeks can happen for a few reasons, and the GD test is a smart precaution since gestational diabetes is one of them. The good news is that your doctor is being proactive by rescanning and testing rather than just leaving it, so I'd go ahead with both and see what shows up. At 22cm it's borderline high, not severely, so there's a decent chance it could settle down on its own too. Just make sure you do the GD test and follow up with the rescan as advised, then you'll have clearer answers.

Mommy got fever in 3rd trimester

Hi mommies, does anyone ever experience fever and cough in your 3rd trimester? Will that effect your baby development?

A fever in third trimester can feel quite worrying, but from what I've heard most mums get through it fine with rest and fluids. That said, since you're in your third trimester it's really important to check in with your gynae or polyclinic just to be safe and make sure it's nothing that needs attention, especially if the fever is high or lasting more than a couple of days. They'll be able to monitor you and baby properly and put your mind at ease. In the meantime, try to rest as much as you can and stay hydrated lah.
