Pregnant with fraternal twins

I'm currently 27 weeks and 5 days pregnant with a fraternal twins. Having a servere pelvic pain. I wanted to know when is the earliest I can deliver my twins? 36 weeks??

Please go see your doctor or A&E today itself, especially with that severe pelvic pain at 27 weeks. This one really should not wait. Your twins' safety and yours depend on getting checked properly by someone who knows your full medical picture.

Giving birth at SLU Baguio Hospital

Hello Mommies! Just wanted to ask sa mga mommies na recently nanganak sa SLU Hospital Baguio, how much po inabot ng bill nyo for cs/normal delivery? And kamusta po birthing experience nyo with them? :) Thank you in advance!

Hey, I think you might have posted this in the Singapore community by accident - SLU Baguio is in the Philippines, so most of us here won't have experience there. You'd probably get better answers if you post this in a Philippine parenting group instead, since the mummies there will have the actual costs and feedback from that hospital.

Abnormal sleeping patterns

Hi mummies! I’m 25 weeks pregnant and I realised that in the last few weeks I have had trouble staying asleep. I used to be able to sleep for 8-9 hours straight! But nowadays, I find myself waking up after 5 hours and have been finding it really hard to go back to sleep each time. Now I hover around 5-6 hours of sleep daily. Will my baby be okay with the lesser sleep? Anyone else have this?

This happened to me since first trimester. Now I’m at week 27 and it’s still the same. Today I woke up at 5am+ then try to go back to sleep again. This happened to me almost every night unless I’m very tired from work.. there was once where I woke up 2-3 times every night. I asked my friends who had kids they say it’s normal…

don't worry.. gender disappointment is a real thing it happen to me withe my first born. But he came with what I needed the most, the love, the cuddles, the clinginess makes me feel loved.

Confinement nanny

Aiyo, I really feel you on this, finding the right confinement nanny is so stressful, especially when you're already so tired and emotional after delivery! My friend actually engaged Confinement Angels and she specifically requested Aunty Kelly, said that auntie was super experienced and made her feel like got another mother taking care of her, very warm and attentive to both mummy and baby. Someone in my mum WhatsApp group also mentioned their nanny from the same agency, Auntie Xiu Ying, and said she proactively helped with household chores without even being asked, plus cooked really well, which the whole family including in-laws were quite impressed by! So overall the feedback I've heard has been pretty positive lah, most mummies feel well taken care of. Just make sure you request early because good aunties get booked up very fast one, that's what everyone keeps saying!

Post natal massage and binding

Hello mummies! Any recommendation for postal natal massage and binding? Is it useful or consider mandatory after birth?

I did postpartum massage and binding after both my kids, and honestly it made a difference to how I felt recovery-wise, especially the back and pelvic area tightness. I think it's more about personal preference than mandatory though - some mums swear by it, others skip it entirely and feel fine. The binding helped me feel more supported when moving around, which was nice during the first few weeks when everything felt loose and achy. I'd say if your budget allows and you want that extra bit of pampering and support, go for it, but it's not something you absolutely need to do to recover well.

Reccomendation for breast pump

Hello! I am FTM at week 18 pregnant. Any recommendation for breast pump, thinking to get one which can use at home and outside (when back to office)instead of getting 2.

Congrats FTM mama! I'd recommend the Spectra S1 Plus — it's super popular among Singapore mamas, has a built-in rechargeable battery so you can use it at home and office, and the suction is really good for milk supply! If budget allows, the Elvie wearable pump is amazing for office use since it fits in your bra and is totally silent.

Anyone hear of Dr. Smita Lakhotia from KKH?

I haven't come across her myself, but KKH has so many good doctors there that it's worth asking your gynae directly or calling the hospital's switchboard to find out more about her credentials and approach. You could also pop by the polyclinic first if you want a general checkup before committing to a specialist, just to get a sense of things without the specialist fees. Sorry I can't be more helpful here, but hopefully someone else in the community will have seen her!

Recommendation for Day Time Confinement Nanny

Hello mummies! any recommendation for day time confinement nanny? Many agencies enquired do no provide such services.

I think can find, just that not many agencies offer daytime only, most are live-in. Maybe you can try asking around or through recommendations, some nannies do part-time/daytime but not always listed under agencies. Hope you manage to find one! 🙏
