Conservative paediatrician

My 7mo currently coughing with a lot of phlegm, brought him to paediatrician and he prescribed prospan, Zyrtec and zenmolin for 3 days. After I give baby, i found out that medication can be very harmful to babies because their livers not fully developed... super guilty. Will there be any long term effects? Any recommendations for more conservative paediatrician who don't always just give meds?

Ooof cough and influenza in babies are better not to medicate but really depends on severity tho. Alot more towards managing with no oral drugs like sterimar to wash out phlegm, iliadin drops (3 days max), warm compress around chest if no fever, cupping hands and hotting sides of chest to dislodge phlegm, light clothing and no aircon. Only safe thing is paracetamol if there is some fever but fever is usually the body fighting against infection. Personally i go to Cheery Clinic at hougang but same like any other peds always full always long queue and ur luck if u pick up another virus/bacteria along the way.

Not sure why your pd gave Zyrtec… I like Dr Chong from Novena. But he is expensive. Very kind doctor and receptionists also nice. Need to book appt, often full/long queue. I think nasal sprays better option for babies at that age. Hope you find a better solution and baby to get well soon :(
