I really want to avoid having a transvaginal scan if possible. It sounds really scary. If I see a gynae at week 7-8, would I be able to avoid it?#firsttimemom

Pretty unlikely to avoid it at week 7.. I had one done at week 9 , but tt was under subsidised route, so I'm not sure if it's the norm. It's not painful, you'll just feel pressure when the doc presses the wand to scan the fetus. If it really scares u, you can call in to enquire first at which week they're do an abdominal ultrasound instead of a transvaginal one.

For my 2nd i think i waited till 9 or 10 weeks if i’m not wrong. My 4th i waited till 11 weeks to polyclinic to get referral and got my first appt at KKH at 12 weeks 6 days.

Unfortunately, I didn’t managed to avoid at my first gynae check up 😔 it wasn’t pain but just discomfort. You will get distracted when you see your baby and get to listen to their heartbeat 💗
