Anyone send their kids to CC at 7am due to work commitments? Is it a v sad thing to do? Are there any kids there this early and will they hv anyone to mind them or make them nap (no tv) :(

never. i send them depends on their tiredness, wait them to wake up or follow my 12hrs sleeping target every night.

Training Kids In Maths

My daughter is 4. 5 yr old.. Teacher taught addition in class.. She is not able to follow and lack interest in learning. She is more interested in english letters and playing. How do u teach maths. Not sure on how she woll b able to progress in maths as curriculum here is quite tough..i dont prefer kumon as tgy give set of papers and force kids to do. Pls advise

anyone with preschoolers who do not nap, care to share their age and bedtime schedule? thanks! or for those who nap, what's their nap duration and bed time schedule? read that if one enforce naps (esp long ones) for older preschoolers they may end up sleeping very late ie at 11pm. Am thinking if it makes transition to primary school difficult if they are still napping by kindergarten.

I instill a nap. Even during non school day, i will insist for a nap arnd 1pm. be it 45mins or 1hr, Their bedtime is usually arnd 9.30pm

Teach my 4YO confidence

My daughter is 4 and attends pre-school half day. She is a happy, imaginative and active child at home, but not very open to people she doesn't know well (getting her to say Good Morning to strangers can be a struggle sometimes). Recently she came home from school telling me that the other kids from her 'girls group' don't want to play with her anymore. She repeats that for days now. She doesn't give a reason, just says they say 'no' when she asks to join a game or sit next to them etc. She then goes off and plays alone. I spoke to the teacher about it and she said that because my daughter is only half day and not full day, the other girls, who are mostly full day, bond deeper and I should consider sending her full day as well. I am trying to tell her that she should make new friends in class, that there are other kids she could play with but she doesn't want to. Either they are boys and play rough or they are too young, or they speak a different language or etc etc. When we are outside at a playground she rarely approaches any kids by herself and even is shy when we meet friends with kids she knows. I am wondering what I can do to make her stronger so she stands up for herself and makes new friends. Her personality is more shy and quiet - I am aware I cannot change that but what can I do to support her? (It might well be that this hurts me more than her)

How often do you get updates from childcare

Hi mamas, I’m first time sending my toddler to play group. May I know how often do you usually get updates from your childcare center and to what extent? Do they share updates daily about the activities they did, how well they eat, sleep etc. Also do they share photos? #childcare #playgroup #firsttimemom #preschool

Updates for activities like their portfolio will be updated through school portal apps. While normal updates like daily activities, pee, poo, shower, nap will be during pick up time. But this depends on individual school or policy. If teacher communicate with parents personally then it will be through Whatsapp or school portal apps. You can always ask on/off during pick up period.

Which is the best school in Singapore?

as a teacher to 13-16 year old high ability boys, I would say the best school is home itself. it doesn't matter which school you send your child to as long as you possess a growth mindset towards your child's aptitude and character development. aim to develop resilience and responsible risk taking in your child, and he can soar anywhere :)
