Putting on too much weight in first trimester!

im not too sure abt this. but i think its normal for it to leak out? from my experience anyway, no matter hw much i push all the way in, there will still be some leakage

Maternity pants

At which week did you start buying/wearing maternity pants? Im in my week 14 and pants starting to get tight and uncomfortable altho ive sized up. #firsttimemom

Can I go and see dentist during prgnancy?

i am 31 weeks pregnant and having a bad toothache(not wisdom tooth) i have a hole in my teeth. i cant handle the pain. its getting worse. am i allowed to go dental? cause i heard it will be risky for the baby. TIA!

Any thomson doctor near West area? Anyone know subsidise KKH to TMC after wks20 or earlier?

I would like to go for KKH or NUH subsidise and after the details scan change to tmc, is it possible and when should I transfer over? How's the tmc package works and by which weeks need change over? #pleaseadvise #pleasehelp

I really feel you on this, trying to balance the cost savings at the start while still getting the TMC experience later is such a smart move and many mums here have done the same. From what I know, most mums transfer after the detailed scan around week 20 to 22, once all the major checks are done at KKH or NUH subsidised, and then they engage a Thomson or Mount Alvernia doctor privately from there. You would want to confirm the exact package weeks with TMC directly as their packages can differ by doctor, so calling their billing team early is a good idea lah. Hopefully someone in the community who has done this exact transfer can share more specifics too.

Anyone has a (almost) complete list of things to buy for baby & mummy? Although i can google it, i am still very clueless And when do you start buying them? ##firsttimemom

Trimester 2 onwards (up to you) Ill list down the brands im using for myself. Baby • Clothings (I got hand me down cause they outgrow very quickly.) - Mittens, Booties, Swaddle, Bibs • Stroller (Keenz Air 2.0) - No car seat for me cause we don’t own a car. We take taxi/public transport when we go out. • Baby carrier (Ergobaby Omni 360) - Personally recommend to use this carrier after 3mo unless your baby is tall. • Handkerchiefs (For shower/burping) • Diapers (Huggies naturemade) • Oral wipes (NUK) • Nail scissors (Pigeon, after 1 or 2 months) • Towel (Im using Taobao) Optionals • Changing mat (Babylove) • Milk bottles (Avent Natural) • Hair brush • Pacifier (Avent Ultra Soft) • Formula (if not intending to bf, NAN Optipro HA for mine) • Ruyee oil • Diaper cream (Sudocrem) • Cot (Raab family) - I didn’t use the cot at all cause i’m breastfeeding so cosleeping is more convenient. Mummy (All optional) • Breast pump (Babyexpress Be Mine & BeFree) • Flange inserts (Important if you intend to pump) • Breast pads (Pigeon Premium care) • Kotex overnight panties (I dont like maternity pads) • Nipple cream (Thomson essentials) • Sets of long sleeve long pants PJ (Use button for easy access) • Nursing bra (Lovemere) • Bedroom slippers Lifesaver: UV steriliser (Haenim)

Recommended Gynae

Hi! I’m looking for a recommended gynae that’s near Bedok. Just went to a gynae in Parkway East Hospital today, and the whole experience feels very rushed. It’s my first time and not too sure what to expect too.. Hope to have some recommended gynaes. Thank you!!

I really feel you on this -- your first gynae visit should feel comfortable and not rushed at all, so I understand how unsettling that must have been. My friend tried Dr. Shephali Tagore and said the experience was really good, the doctor was patient and took time to explain everything properly. It might be worth checking if she is accessible from Bedok area lah, and you can also ask around at your nearest polyclinic for a referral if you prefer to explore more options first.
