KKH Gynea Recommendation

Hello, as titled above, I need recommendation for a gynea at kkh as my previous gynea has left. I see a few similar threads here but they are outdated. I’ve also heard that now it is more difficult to get HL, based on a friend’s experience with Dr Suzanna who reject her need for HL at 36weeks, this year August. I was with Dr Lee Jiah Min previously. Though she was very generous with HL previously, I don’t think it’s the same now as when I met her at her private clinic this is what she told me, and I don’t want to pay the premium price without the assurance of HL later in my pregnancy seeing that my line of work is very demanding and as this is a repeated pregnancy, I’m sure my body will not be able to take it by the time my pregnancy progress. If you have any recommendations or advice please let me know! It will really help!

I totally understand your concern, HL policies do seem to have tightened compared to a few years back, and it's frustrating when you're relying on it for a demanding job, especially in your second pregnancy. From what I hear, a few gynaes at KKH are being stricter about HL now and won't issue it unless there's a genuine medical need or you're already admitted, so it's worth asking upfront during your first consultation rather than finding out later. The thing is, different doctors have different thresholds, so you might need to interview a couple before you find one whose approach matches what you need, some mums have had better luck asking explicitly about their HL criteria at the booking stage rather than waiting till late pregnancy. Since you're repeating and your body's likely to feel it more this time, it might be worth having that conversation early on: are they willing to support HL from a certain week onwards, or do they require medical grounds? That way you're not caught off guard like your friend was. A neighbour of mine switched gynaes mid-pregnancy for similar reasons and her new doctor was much more flexible, so it's definitely worth exploring your options rather than settling if the fit doesn't feel right. recommendation for TMC anaesthetist

Hello, would like to know if any of you have recommendations for an anaesthetist at TMC and your review if any pls. I will be having a planned c-sect this time so was hoping to see if i can choose my anaesthetist. Thanks!

I haven't had experience with TMC specifically, but honestly it's worth asking your OB gynae directly which anaesthetists they work well with during c-sections, because they'll know who's reliable and communicates clearly with you beforehand. A good one will explain the whole process and make you feel less anxious, which really does make a difference on the day itself. You could also ask around in the mum groups here or even call TMC's patient services to ask if you can request someone specific when you book in, since it's a planned procedure anyway.

IUGR- small gestational age

hi I'm on my 2nd pregnancy also with IUGR, but this time round, it's detected way earlier at wk 20. anyone with similar experiences. I'm really concerned on the possible effects to my baby once he's grown. social development , potential health issues etc. Also, has anyone gotten HL due to IUGR before?

Feeling nauseous (or not)

I am in week 8 and I have my first prenatal hospital appt next week. I have stopped feeling as nauseous as I was in week 5 and 6. Is this ok/normal? >_

I think it's pretty normal for nausea to ease off around this time, honestly. Some mums get a break from it, while others still feel lousy for weeks more, everyone's different. That said, it might be good to mention it to the doctor at your appointment next week just so they know how you're feeling and can put your mind at ease. In the meantime, if you're keeping food and fluids down and feeling okay otherwise, I wouldn't worry too much about it.

Michele Lee (mt Alvernia)

Has anyone delivered with Dr Michele Lee from Mount Alvernia hospital? Any feedback?

I haven't personally delivered with Dr Michele Lee, but a friend of mine went with her at Mt Alvernia and said she was very patient and thorough during the consultations, took time to answer questions without rushing. Mt Alvernia is a good hospital overall, very clean and the staff are attentive. If you're thinking of going with her, maybe try to attend one of her clinic sessions first to see if you click with her, since the doctor-patient relationship is quite important during pregnancy and delivery.

10months old milestones

10months old baby boy not yet pointing,clapping, waving. But he is able to stand and trying to walk also. Great eye contact and responds to name. Should I be worried or is it ok ? We are practicing everyday with him. I have a 9yr old spl needs boy first born, so I am always worried if the second baby misses any milestone. Pls pour in your suggestions. Worried mom.

Hi! Anybody has any recent review with KKH Dr Liu Jiayi?

Looking to switch to private patient and want to appoint a female doctor. So far only have encountered 2 different doctors at KKH so can’t be sure who to appoint - one of them is Dr Liu JY. She seems nice and caring. Any reviews will be great! Best if recent :)

Is she generous... Ok to give HL? Currently 36 weeks
