Only can see the sac

Went for my scan yesterday and was only able to see the sac , is it normal? As my last menses was 10 September and they say im already six week pregnant. But only the sac is visible. Worried ……

I totally understand the worry, this must feel quite stressful. At 6 weeks, timing can be tricky because it really depends on when you actually ovulated, not just your last period, so sometimes things are a bit earlier or later than expected. A few mums I know went in expecting to see more at that scan and only saw the sac initially, but when they went back a week or two later, the fetal pole and heartbeat showed up fine, so it's not always a red flag. That said, some situations do need closer monitoring, so it's definitely worth asking your doctor to recheck in about a week or so and maybe also check your HCG levels to make sure everything's tracking as it should be. Try not to spiral too much in the meantime, but do follow up, your own doctor or specialist will give you the clearest picture of what's happening with your specific pregnancy.

Type 2 diabetic mums buying newborn insurance

Hello mummies! Any one can advise me on which company of newborn insurance should I purchase as I’m approaching 13w! What happens if I already have pre-existing type 2 DM before buying insurance? Will they not cover me/baby fully? Possible to share with me the costs as well? Thanks a lot!! #babyinsurance

So from what I've gathered chatting with other mums, most insurers here do cover babies born to mothers with pre-existing type 2 diabetes, the good news is your baby's policy itself isn't usually affected by your condition, since baby starts from a clean slate health-wise. However, your own maternity and pregnancy-related claims can get tricky; some plans exclude or limit coverage for complications linked to your diabetes, so you really need to read the fine print carefully and declare everything upfront. Cost-wise, newborn policies typically run anywhere from a few hundred to over a thousand dollars depending on the coverage level and insurer, but honestly the variation is quite wide. A friend went through Prudential and said they were pretty transparent about what would and wouldn't be covered given her pre-existing conditions, worth asking each company directly for a detailed breakdown rather than guessing. The key thing is to compare what each plan says about maternity exclusions and how they handle pre-existing conditions, because that's where the real differences show up. Definitely worth having a chat with your doctor or a financial advisor who knows the local policies too, just to make sure you're picking something that actually works for your situation!

Recommended gynae @ SGH

Hi all, I am first time mum and currently at week 15, thinking of switching from subsidised to private route at SGH somewhere around week 32. Anyone who has similar experience can share the cost differences? And any recommended gynae? Thank you!

I switched to private at KKH around week 28 and honestly the cost jump was quite significant lah, but having the same doctor throughout made a difference for me. I'd recommend asking your current PD or the hospital directly for a list of private gynae there, then maybe book a consultation with one or two to see who you click with, because at the end of the day you want someone you're comfortable talking to about birth plans and concerns. A few mums I know at the playground went private at SGH and said it was worth it for the continuity and shorter wait times, but do get the exact fee breakdown from the hospital first so there are no surprises later.

Cervical polyp and bleeding

Hello fellow mummies! Can anyone with polyp and bleeding advise what should I do? I’m currently 9 weeks preggy, and I have a mid size cervical polyp which is making me bleed on and off for 1 week and I see bits of blood clots occasionally. It scares me as i tend to bleed more recently. My gynae gave me a 2 weeks supply of Duphaston tablets + 1 progesterone jab, but it doesn’t seem to help with my bleeding at all. Halpssss :( Each toilet visit, each sneeze, each wipe after peeing makes me scared and worried at the same time #cervicalpolyp #bleeding

I literally had it removed when I rushed down. He didn’t gave me an option because mine made the vagina area too itchy. The itch was more unbearable. Removing it hurts temporarily and I’ll prefer that .

Hi Mummies! After a long years of hiatus (🤣), I am at it again. Last pregnancy was 7 years ago, and my last child (son), is 6 now, going to P1 soon. Kinda not expecting that I’m able to conceive again at 38, but thank God, I made it. Conceived naturally. How about you? If you are still trying, keep on doing it. With God’s will, you can! 🫂❤️

KKH Gynea Recommendation

Hello, as titled above, I need recommendation for a gynea at kkh as my previous gynea has left. I see a few similar threads here but they are outdated. I’ve also heard that now it is more difficult to get HL, based on a friend’s experience with Dr Suzanna who reject her need for HL at 36weeks, this year August. I was with Dr Lee Jiah Min previously. Though she was very generous with HL previously, I don’t think it’s the same now as when I met her at her private clinic this is what she told me, and I don’t want to pay the premium price without the assurance of HL later in my pregnancy seeing that my line of work is very demanding and as this is a repeated pregnancy, I’m sure my body will not be able to take it by the time my pregnancy progress. If you have any recommendations or advice please let me know! It will really help!

Im still unsure if im pregnant or not... Last week i tried a urine test and it was "pregnant 1-2" and then i went to the clinic to see if its true but they said im not pregnant and might be too early to detect... So i have to wait for awhile but still try some urine test at home but then it said 'not pregnant' also... Today theres a sudden bleeding... It bleed on my pantyliner and it wasnt alot and it was brown... Does it mean im not pregnant anymore or? Im so confuse and worried... What should i do? 😭😭😭

U can go hospital and check ur HCG levels. That'll help determine ur pregnancy
