KKH Gyne recommendations

Hi mummies, I need recommendations for gyne with excellent suturing skills, steady and professional from KKH. My previous gyne was Prof John Tee. Imo, he is the best. I had a high risk pregnancy but he made it as smooth as possible. He did my amniocentesis and delivered my baby in a 26 hours induced labour safely and I recovered well. During such procedures, he was both professional and caring at the same time. My experience at KKH was excellent. Unfortunately, I couldn't get him this time as he is not taking in new cases. 😭

Should I be worried if my baby weight is fine but I am not the gaining ideal weight. I am at week 27 and I only gain almost 3kg.

Need pregnancy advice with type 2 diabetes

I’d like to hear advice on managing the pregnancy, doctor visits, diet from parents who were pregnant and has type 2 diabetes condition during pregnancy. Any advice? Thanks in advance

Hi! I had Type 2 diabetes during my pregnancy. My biggest advice is to monitor your blood sugar closely, follow the meal plan recommended by your doctor or dietitian, and never miss your prenatal appointments. I found that eating smaller, balanced meals throughout the day helped keep my sugar levels stable. My doctor also monitored the baby's growth more frequently in the later stages of pregnancy. It can feel overwhelming at times, but with good medical support and regular monitoring, I had a healthy pregnancy and baby. Wishing you all the best!

Foreign worker mom to be in singapore

Hi mummies! I just want to ask fo some advice from moms out there..im a S-pass holder and Im currently 15 weeks pregnant. I do my check up at KKH, I read at some post at around 16 weeks during check up they might offer you a check up package.. since im a S-pass holder, im not eligible for subsidy and discount. Do you think its still okay to do the check up in KKH or its better to go to private (any recommendation for private clinic?) will the charges will be almost same amount for private since im not getting subsidy at kkh or it will be more costly? we usually pay arounf $265+ (vitamins and other testing not included yet) from my previous visit at kkh. Btw, im planning to give birth back home in my country. Thank you:) #adviceplease #pregnancy #firstimemom

Eh my neighbour who is also on S-pass said the same thing, no subsidy at KKH so the gap between KKH and private clinic is actually not that big lah. Someone in my mum WhatsApp group mentioned for roughly same price or just slightly more, private gives you much better service and more personal attention from your gynae. Since you're not delivering in Singapore anyway, just do your check-ups somewhere comfortable, no point paying KKH rates without the subsidy benefit!

Endometrial polyps procedure

Hi ladies, for those who had endometrial polyps, was it done under LA, sedation or GA? Also for private gynae who would you recommend if i have very bad anxiety with such procedures? And what were your symptoms when having polyps? How long was the procedure? Your advice is greatly appreciated!

I had mine under GA. I didn't have much symptoms that point out this issue until I had 2 concurrent miscarriages. The doctor arranged for a hysteroscopy to check and found out I need to do a day surgery to remove quite a lot of them, hence the GA. The procedure was quick, maybe about 30-45 mins? the entire procedure from preparation to actually being discharged was about half a day. take care!

Is it normal for having nausea at week 24 of pregnancy? Sometimes i even vomit but only happen in the morning. And sometimes a little light headed

Prodomal Labour

Hi mummies ! Currently going through prodomal labour/early labour since 34 weeks 4 days , went to triage because my tummy was so tight & what i thought was braxton hicks turned out to be contractions hahah. started in the afternoon & finally went to the hosp at night bcuz i couldnt take it anym & turns out i was already 3cm dilated . contractions went to 10mins apart then 5 mins apart & it all stopped in the wee hours of the morning. was discharged aft a day at observation ward & now i feel the contractions every few hours , sometimes it gets consistent again then disappears. Just wanted to know if anybody else went through this & how long later did you actually go into labour

I went through something similar with my second pregnancy. I had irregular contractions for almost 2 weeks before actual labour 😅 They would get consistent, then suddenly stop. When labour finally started, the contractions became much stronger and didn’t go away with rest. Hang in there mums, baby might still be taking their sweet time ❤️

Recommend drinks

Hello mummies. I'll be 7 weeks in a few days but still having morning sickness. Vomitting throughout the day. Any recommendation on what to drink to keep me hydrated?

I had really bad morning sickness too in my first trimester 😅 What helped me was cold coconut water, ice-cold lemon water, and sipping electrolyte drinks slowly throughout the day. Small sips worked better than drinking a lot at once. If you’re vomiting a lot and can’t keep fluids down, do check with your gynae too. ❤️

How do i recover from heartbreak after learning that my husband has been cyber cheating, and might have possibly met up with the women. Its not one or two chats with one or two women. It's quite a few. I'm in in my third trimester. He says he's been addicted to it, and he didn't even bother to hide it, as he left his phone u locked and for me to see the incoming msgs easily. It's because few years back I had a short fling/affair. But now, I've been giving it everything, and I come to know about this. I love him so much.
