Where to get chinese confinement ingredients from?

Where do you source ur own chinese confinement ingredients like red dates, herbal tea etc from? Any recommendations for good quality and affordable ingredients? #confinementfood

my confinement nanny recommended fu lu shou , they sell confinement stuff for 28 days. i haven’t went to see though. eu yan sang also has confinement stuff

Freelance confinement nanny need to provide ID?

Hi mummies, for freelance confinement nannies, are they supposed to provide us with any form of ID after deposit is given? Mine refuses to give anything and so far, I only know her nickname and WhatsApp number. Is that a concern? TIA!

have you done a call or video call with her? might be helpful to just have a chat so you are at ease about who is coming into your home to help you as well :)

Maternity leave/Shared parental leave

Since our kids will be born after 1st april 2026, anyone planning to fully utilise the shared parental leave and taking 6months at one go? Or is it better to keep some for child vaccinations/falling sick etc. thinking how much to keep will be a good amount?#PregnancyAdvise #sharedparentalleave

i am taking more or less 6 months at one go, with some half days at work for a few days a week, starting in Sep to extend the leave a little! i think companies usually give additional 3 days CCL once you have a child so that might be an option too good thought to keep some days to take just in case though! i didn’t consider that

Bilateral notch

20 weeks here and just completed second trimester scan. Gynae report that i have bilateral notch and i’m on aspirin now. Anyone with similar experiences? Also, understand that this diagnosis will get me rejected if i apply for maternity insurance. Is it true?

I am on aspirin too.

KKH doctor recommendation

I have a diagnosis of uterine didelphys, and I am currently at my second trimester. Does anyone have recommendation for a doctor at KKH who has experience managing this condition? Would appreciate any advice.

Hi mama, first of all you are doing really well managing this in your second trimester and reaching out for advice. Uterine didelphys is a rare condition and you really want a doctor who has experience with Müllerian anomalies and high-risk obstetrics specifically. At KKH, the best approach is to ask to be seen under the Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM) department as they are the high-risk obstetrics specialists within KKH and will have the most experience managing complex uterine conditions in pregnancy. When you call to make your appointment, specifically mention your diagnosis of uterine didelphys and request a referral to the MFM team. This ensures you get a doctor whose daily work involves exactly these kinds of complex cases rather than a general OB. KKH being a specialist women's hospital is genuinely one of the best places in Singapore to be managed for this condition. The MFM consultants there have seen a wide range of uterine anomalies and will be well placed to monitor your pregnancy closely and plan your delivery carefully. Do also ask your current doctor to write a referral letter summarising your diagnosis and any scans done so far, as this helps the MFM team hit the ground running at your first appointment. Night baby sitter/ confinment nanny

Hi any mummies have any reccommandations for good cantonese/ chinese confinment nannys? Or any night baby sitter to take care newborns for just night feeds? For around 30-40days in july/aug 2026. TIA!

Hi Mumma. From what I’ve seen, live-in confinement nannies typically handle night feeds as part of the package, so you can rest, while part-time/day nannies usually don’t cover overnight unless specially arranged

Kkh midnight drips

Hi does anyone knows if i walk in to kkh midnight for drips, will that be expensive? & will they take me in? I am feeling weak & dizzy whatever i have eaten today all vomit out...

hi! just saw your post. they will give u drips but best to be admitted so that they can deduct from medisave instead. i didnt know that it will be that exp until ive got the bill. it cost me $300++ so if u are able to req to be admitted, pls do.

10 weeks pregnant

Currently 10 weeks pregnant. I feel like i canot do this anymore. 24/7 feeling unwell, insomnia, heart burn, cant swallow much, vomiting, even drinking water also puke, cant stand e smell of foods, even shower gels & shampoos. Coughing with white phlegm. Feel horrible 😭

Same here have random bouts of nausea especially with water. Jiayous! Try coconut water too or any other “less cooling” herbal drinks like water chestnut shld be ok. I asked my gynae she just say drink whatever i want. Else try flavoured milk / soy milk - at least get some protein and fluid in
