Any reviews on Dr ng Zheng yuan from KKH?

John tee delivered my first baby but I’m considering Dr Ng Zheng Yuan for the second born. He is less experience but has a very warm and assuring vibe. Strange though I can’t find any reviews on him.

Haha I totally understand the feeling, sometimes a doctor's vibe just clicks with you and that matters a lot, especially for your second pregnancy! From what I've heard, Dr Ng Zheng Yuan is a legitimate consultant at KKH with his MRCOG and O&G specialist accreditation since 2020, so while he may be newer compared to Dr John Tee, he's properly qualified. A friend actually mentioned that he came across as very caring and thorough with his patients, which lines up with your impression, so if you already felt that warmth during your consultation, that's usually a good sign to trust your gut!

21 month old doesn’t listen to us

Hi Mommies, does you 21 month old child listens to you when you scold him/her? For example, my little one throw his toys when he gets bored with them then I tell him to stop but he still continue to do it. I feel frustrated. I also let him joined a class in church; other kids listen he’s the only one keep running around the room. I feel so embarrassed and stressed. He doesn’t listen :( #baby

Aiyah don't worry lah, my friend's son was exactly like this at 21 months, her paed told her this age is very normal one, their brain developing faster than their self-control. Someone in my mum WhatsApp group mentioned that at this age they don't really "disobey," they just literally cannot stop themselves yet, so scolding doesn't work well. My neighbour tried the positive discipline approach, get down to eye level, short simple words, redirect instead of just saying "no", and she said within a few weeks her boy much better already.

Exclusively pumping

Hi mummies, Can I just ask, those who exclusively pump, do you just pump without latching baby at all, or do you let baby latch from time to time?

Mostly pump without latching, sometimes at night (1-2times a month) the eye really cannot open then latch to cheat that 10mins of extra sleep (but still need to pump if your baby don’t clear well - like mine). But I stop latching totally at 4.5m (tooth is out💀).

Good stroller for the next one

Hi, any recommendation for a long term use stroller? Just wondering if brands like Nuna & bugaboo are good? Just want to survey2 for good stroller even when handling alone in public.

Nuna is sturdy, easy to manoeuvre and lasted us through the toddler years Bugaboo also gets a lot of love from parents I know, especially for the smooth ride and durability, but it’s definitely on the pricier side. Personally, if you’ll be handling baby alone often, I’d pay attention to weight, one-hand folding and how easy it is to get in and out of taxis/public transport. Those ended up mattering more to me than all the fancy features If budget allows, I do think both Nuna and Bugaboo are good long-term options. Maybe try them in-store first because what feels comfortable can be quite personal

Hospital bag for NUH

Hi, 2nd time mom about to pop any day now! Can I ask what are some things you moms packed differently during your 2nd birth? Also, I breastfed my firstborn but previously did not bring anything to the hospital. Should I bring a pump or haakaa this time round? 🤔 #2ndbirth #hospitalbag #38weeks #2ndtimemom

The biggest difference for my second baby was confidence 😂 First baby I packed like I was moving house. Second baby I realised the hospital already provides quite a lot and I didn’t need half the things I brought

Hi 2nd time mom here but having a natural labour this time. How long were you moms having painful braxton hicks going into early labour/in early labour for?

It really varies from mum to mum! With my second, I know some mums who had painful Braxton Hicks and early labour signs for just a few hours before things ramped up, while others had them on and off for days (sometimes even weeks 😅). One thing that helped me understand what was happening: Braxton Hicks are usually irregular and don't get progressively stronger or closer together. True early labour contractions tend to become more regular, longer, stronger, and closer together over time. If you're timing them and noticing a clear pattern developing, or if your waters break, baby’s movements decrease, or you're having any concerns, it's worth giving your maternity unit a call. Engorged boobs during pregnancy

Engorged boobs since 35 weeks pregnant. This is my 2nd pregnancy and I’ve only had engorged boobs postpartum, not during pregnancy. Anybody else experiences this and what did you do to help with the pain aside from trying to get the milk out?

I experienced something similar around the third trimester too. For me, it was mostly due to hormonal changes and my body preparing for breastfeeding. The breasts felt very full, heavy, tender, and sometimes even leaked colostrum. What helped was wearing a supportive, non-underwire maternity bra, using cold compresses for swelling, and avoiding excessive stimulation or pumping unless advised by my doctor. Some mums also find warm showers and gentle breast massage helpful for discomfort. If the breast becomes red, hot, very painful, or you develop a fever, it’s worth getting checked by your doctor to rule out an infection. Otherwise, breast fullness and changes in late pregnancy can be completely normal, even if you didn’t experience it in your first pregnancy. ❤️

Hard breasts towards end of pregnancy

Hi I’m a 2nd time mom here! I’m only at 35 weeks right now but my breasts are so hard. Reminds me of my breasts at around 3 days postpartum when the milk starts to buildup to become engorged. Any idea what I should do? I’m afraid of trying to hand express because I’m at high risk of pre-term labour in the next week or 2. 😅

I had this too around 35 weeks, mums. My OB said it can happen as the breasts prepare for breastfeeding. Since you’re at high risk of preterm labour, I’d check with your OB before trying to hand express. A supportive bra and cold compress helped with the discomfort 😊

Strong braxton hicks

Hello, 2nd time mom here and am at 32 weeks! Anybody experiences strong braxton hicks that it makes fluid comes out? I don’t think it’s amniotic fluid but rather just watery discharge. But the amount that comes out is quite a lot 😅 Would love to hear anyone’s similar experiences!

In my second pregnancy, I had way more discharge than my first too! 😅 But for me it wasn't a gush, just more discharge throughout the day. Since you're having strong Braxton Hicks as well, I'd probably give your gynae a call just to be safe and for peace of mind. ❤️ Good luck, mama! 😊

Hospital refund

Hi 😊 i delivered in June. Already receive hospital final bills. And i still havent receive any cheque from them. I’m still wondering whether will i receive the cheque? During my 2nd born. Its quite fast for the process. Like in 1 or 2 months.

What cheque is this?
