21 month old doesn’t listen to us

Hi Mommies, does you 21 month old child listens to you when you scold him/her? For example, my little one throw his toys when he gets bored with them then I tell him to stop but he still continue to do it. I feel frustrated.I also let him joined a class in church; other kids listen he’s the only one keep running around the room. I feel so embarrassed and stressed. He doesn’t listen :( #baby

Aiyah dont worry lah, my friends son was exactly like this at 21 months, her paed told her this age is very normal one, their brain developing faster than their self-control. Someone in my mum WhatsApp group mentioned that at this age they dont really disobey, they just literally cannot stop themselves yet, so scolding doesnt work well. My neighbour tried the positive discipline approach, get down to eye level, short simple words, redirect instead of just saying no, and she said within a few weeks her boy much better already.
