17 months toddler can’t walk yet

My girl is 17 months turning 18 months but has yet to walk independently. My hub and I feeling quite worried as toddlers younger than her has started walking. We have been training her to walk from 1 point to another (at home) and she seems able to with some support. Seems that she is afraid of letting go and walk on her own. Her upcoming development checkup will be on end Oct and I will raise this up to the doctor but unsure what else can we do to help her. Any advices? Thanks.

Aww don't worry too much, 18 months is actually still within the normal range for independent walking, so your girl still has time! A lot of kids at this stage are already cruising along furniture confidently but just feel anxious about that final "letting go" moment, which sounds exactly like what your daughter is going through. What I've generally heard works well is sitting a short distance away and encouraging her to walk toward you with her favourite toy or snack as motivation, keeping it fun and low-pressure really helps because too much coaxing can sometimes make them more resistant.

Helper keeps kissing toddlers

I need help! My 1 week old helper (single mom of f/10yo & m/3yo) keeps kissing my 15 month old toddlers. Her main duties are house chores. She does not care for them at home as they are attending infant care. She would care for them on short instances like when we are eating etc. So everytime she walk pass them at home or anytime she has the opportunity, she will shower them with kisses. More than me and their father kisses them in a day. She doesnt kiss them on the lips, just all over the face. Its starting to gross me out. Cos now that i wna kiss my kids, i think about her kisses all over their faces. 🤢 Am i over reacting? Should i advise her to stop?

Tell her for hygiene purpose don’t kiss your children. That’s how virus and bacteria spread and how children get sick.

My wife is afraid of using cold compress for my 1.5yo fever. Is this fear justified?

Cold compress as in the patch? I usually just use as it is without putting it in the fridge as my LO (21m) cannot take it. Maybe ask her the reason behind it?

Hello mummies, what is the difference for these milk bottles? Yellow cover milk bottle can use up till one year. How bout the white cover? The price for the white cover is nearly twice the yellow cover price. Would like to know the difference. Thank you.

What milk to give?

Should i stick to giving my 13 month old boy formula or switch to fresh milk already? understand we should be giving our LO's full cream milk now but formula's skimmed milk right?

Hmmm... I am thinking of actually doing the transition slowly, and not immediately cut off and stop giving my baby formula milk. I am scared she is not used to it. Plus, my baby loves her S-26 milk!

Which Brand of full cream milk to give?

Hi Mummies, My LO just turned 1 1 week back and Im thinking of giving full cream milk already but I dont know what type of full cream milk brand to give, my oldest kid is drinking fernleaf but I want a brand more convenient on the go instead of using hot water type,so if you have any milk brands that is on the go pls recommend me,personally I dislike marigold idky so marigold is not on my list for my LO.

For on-the-go convenience, UHT full cream milk in those small individual cartons is really the way to go, no hot water needed, no fridge required in our heat, and you can just toss a few in your bag. Greenfields UHT full cream milk is a popular one among mums I know, and Meiji is another solid option that's widely available at most supermarkets and convenience stores. The main thing to check is that the ingredient list has only one item, full cream milk, no added sugar or milk solids, just keep it clean and simple. My friend actually mentioned that Greenfields comes in smaller 125ml or so portions which are perfect for toddlers so you're not wasting half a carton. One thing worth keeping in mind is to try not to go over 500ml of milk a day once they're past one, so the smaller carton sizes actually help with that too.

Good Time to Change Formula Milk

I have been feeding formula to my child all along, and should I continue now that she is already a toddler? Should I change to cheaper brands or stop formula, or maybe stick to S-26 since she is doing well? and we are happy with her growth progress...
