I have a small open wound at my nipple area (bottom part, where my son is sucking) due to him teething and biting. Which hurts alot when latching. Is there any ointment or oil or cream that I can put to recover fast and also safe for baby? Thanks in advance.

Going back to work after maternity leave

Dear all would like to hear from you on how you manage to assimilate back into work after maternity leave. My boss has been supportive in that she does not email or connect with me post my maternity leave. But she has also been trying to reorg the team and potentially change my scope without letting me know. My colleagues at my level are mostly mums of older kids and I’m not so close to them. Feeling a bit jittery so any advice would be helpful thanks :).

You can always email your boss and ask her to brief you about any changes to your role so that you can be ready when you get back to work.

Medical check up for domestic helper

Is it possible to do the medical check up if the helper has her period?

No, maybe urine test to see if she is pregnant instead?

My son is currently teething, two teeths are on their way out halfway. Hence during breastfeeding, he tend to "bite" and it kinda painful as if there's like a small cut. Any idea how to heal it?

Breastmilk! Squeeze a little out and gently rub on the cut and allow to air dry :) You may also want to teach him that it hurts you, but don't overreact because he might get scared to latch after!

Baby doesn’t want to be let down

My baby is 2 months old and wants to be carried all the time. He cries when we put him down. We are afraid that this becomes a bad habit for him. Should we let this behaviour continue or allow him to cry? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I understand yes it might be bad habit but slowly time fade away baby won't when they grow up one day I'm mother of two

Is autism inherited?

My husband mum has 2 relatives with diagnosed autism, one of them is my hub cousin, another is a more distant relative. Is it a cause for concern? My first born is thankfully alright (very thankful for that) but I’m thinking if I should even now try for a 2nd one. Is there any genetic testing available?

There is a genetic link for autism, so you can say it can be inherited. There is also some genetic testing available for it, however, I am not sure if it is done in Singapore.

Newborn circumcision

I am expecting at the end of March 2019. My husband wants our baby boy to be circumcised but I'm really nervous about it. Does anyone have any recommendations for specialists who do newborn circumcision in Singapore? Anyone know any Singapore hospitals which can do soon after delivery?
