How much to raise a child till university?

I’ve google search but the results varies. Wanna hear from experience mama’s here for some reference point. Kind of worried coz seems like the cost of bringing up a child is really expensive. ?

Which type of doctor should I consult in Singapore for hammer toes or claw toes? I’m looking for someone who specialises in foot and ankle problems and can advise whether conservative treatment or surgery is more appropriate.

Hi mums, I recently found out that I have an ovarian cyst after an ultrasound. I’m feeling a bit worried and would like to get a second opinion to understand whether it needs monitoring or treatment. Has anyone here had a similar experience and can recommend a good doctor or clinic for ovarian cysts?

I haven't dealt with ovarian cysts myself, but a few friends have and they all went to their gynae at either KKH or a private clinic like Raffles or Gleneagles for the second opinion. The good news is most cysts are nothing to worry about and just need monitoring, so getting that peace of mind from a specialist is really worth it. You could also ask your GP for a referral to a gynae they trust, that way the waiting time is usually faster. Sending you all the best and hope the second opinion puts your mind at ease soon.

I'd love to ask Rynette about pain management options during labour, especially since I'm quite anxious about the whole experience. My first pregnancy ended up being induced, so I didn't get to experience natural labour, and now with my second I'm wondering what realistic expectations I should have and whether I should prepare differently this time around. Also keen to know what actually helped other mums get through it without losing the plot completely.

anyone experienced hammer toe?

My husband has been complaining about discomfort around his toes, especially when wearing certain shoes, and I noticed that some of his toes are starting to curl or bend. We are wondering if this could be hammer toes or claw toes. For those who have been through something similar, could you recommend a clinic or foot specialist in Singapore that we could consult?

Yes, curled or bent toes with pain or discomfort in shoes can be signs of hammer toes or claw toes. My husband had similar symptoms, including pain around his toes, rubbing inside his shoes, and difficulty wearing some of his usual footwear. He was diagnosed with hammer toe after seeing Dr Yung Shing Wai, who recommended surgery to straighten the affected toe. After the surgery, he found it much easier and more comfortable to wear his shoes and walk around. I would consider him if you are looking for a top foot doctor in Singapore. ☺️

Looking for a good doctor for rheumatoid arthritis...

Hi mums, I’d really appreciate some advice. Someone close to me has been experiencing symptoms that may be related to rheumatoid arthritis, and we’re considering seeing a specialist. For those who have gone through something similar, could you recommend a rheumatologist or clinic and share what you looked for when choosing one?

I’d recommend getting the symptoms checked by a rheumatologist, especially with ongoing swelling and morning stiffness. Just curious.. is preg mommy allow to do tattoo? Like eyebrow embroidery, tattoo and such.

I checked this before too mommy, and most advice I got was to avoid tattoos or eyebrow embroidery during pregnancy. Main concerns are risk of infection and chemicals/pigments that might not be fully safe for baby.

where can I get eczema treatment here in Singapore?

my eczema keeps coming back even after trying different creams and skincare products. I am thinking of seeing a doctor. What should I consider when choosing a clinic for eczema treatment?

i went to see this tcm at jurong east (Guan Ann Chan Ginseng Supplier and it really does helps alot! the dr will advise on your diet and provide medicinal herb bags for bath and anti itch cream for management. my eczema are those with pus, so after bathing with the herbs, it all dried up within 3 days. i have been dealing with eczema for over 15 years now, always got worse due to weather. didn't want to apply steroid cream anymore as the skin thinning is quite bad now. currently i am only using the anti itch cream 1-2 times a week which i think it's really a huge win. you can read their reviews on google and i really hope it helps you too!

Help pls parents esp from Singapore

Has anyone’s child had an outer ear infection? My child has been complaining of ear pain and tenderness around the outer ear, and I’m wondering how other parents managed it. Did you see a GP or paediatric ENT, and how long did it take for the symptoms to settle?

Hi, I’m from Singapore. My child had an outer ear infection about six months ago, and I remember being quite worried too. We decided to consult Dr Lau Chee Chong for ENT care in Singapore, and the treatment helped the symptoms settle within several days, although the tenderness took a little longer to go away. If your child is still having pain or repeated infections, I’d suggest seeing a Paediatric ENT so they can check the cause and recommend the right treatment. Hopefully your little one feels better soon.
