Infant Care or Helper in Singapore

Hi Mummies, any suggestions on whether I should put my baby on infant care or hire a helper? Recommendation on agency?

I really feel you on this, it is such a tough decision and honestly there is no one right answer because every family situation is different. For us, we went with infant care first because we liked that our girl got early socialisation and the teachers were trained in child development, but I know friends who preferred a helper because the one-on-one attention at home felt more reassuring for a young baby. It really comes down to your work schedule, your budget, and how comfortable you feel with each option lah. Maybe visit a few infant care centres near your home and also speak to a couple of agencies so you can compare before deciding.

3 month old weight

Hi Mummies, Care to share your girl's weight at 3 months old? Worried my girl is below what she supposed to be. She is at 5.1kg going 3 months next wk. She was born abt 3.2kg. TIA!!

I came across this post. My baby is 3 months and 17 days today. She is about 5.2kg. Her formula milk consumption is about 450ml - 500ml a day. I tried to feed her more but she refused.

Sanitise newborn baby toys & book

For newly bought baby toys, and subsequent use, like those rattles or teether kind of toys, is washing using soap sufficient or do i need to sterilise also ? As for those fabric baby books, can i just spray antibacterial spray (baby-safe) ? Since i dont think we can wash. And how do you usually store it ? Or just put on baby’s cot/playpen ? #FTM

I just wipe or wash then clean dry for toys. I don’t wash or spray anything on books. For nb, I’ll keep in box then take out some and play with her then keep it back when done. When she starts exploring, I put in playpen.

Syringe feeding

Hi mummies, I have yet to deliver but would like to know from your experience. In the event, baby refuse to latch or bottle feed, other than feeding using cup, can we use syringe to feed baby milk? If yes, usually how many ml of syringe you use ? And can be any type of standard syringe ?

Can my 1 year old baby eat 1 whole egg a day?

Worried if one whole egg a day is too much for baby.

I totally understand the worry, because I had the same question when my son turned one and I started giving him more solid foods. When I first introduced eggs to my little one, I also started with just the yolk and slowly worked up to the whole egg over a few weeks to see how he responded. From what I have seen with my own kids, one whole egg a day at that age is generally fine as long as your child is not showing any signs of allergy and is eating a good variety of other foods too. That said, every child is different, so it would really be good to just check with your PD to get advice specific to your baby's growth and health. Hope your little one enjoys the eggs, they are such a great source of nutrition for growing toddlers!

HELP! Why my baby shun pacifier??

My baby is 3 months old didn't know still to suck pacifier or just reject taking it. Should I be worrying? Is there any concern that is not normal. His older brother doesn't hv this problem during his infancy period.

Recommendations please

Hi mummies.. Do you mind sharing which brand of diaper is good? Currently using offspring on my LO but its burning my pocket. No doubt its good!! Tried switching to merries. But the pee smell is too strong.. tried mamy poko but it leaks too often.. Also wondering if theres any brand of milk i should give my LO?.. He doesnt seems to enjoy drinking his karihome now.

Does anyone know if we can choose to fetch our baby back from infant care before the end time?

So for full day, if we choose to bring bb back home at example 3pm, is it ok? Or strictly can only bring back at 7pm. And if certain days of the week we choose not to send the baby to infant care. Thanks! Like example for sparkle tots

13mths with 2 teeth

Any lo has teeth later than 13 mths

Oh, I totally understand the worry, my youngest only had 2 teeth at 13 months too, and I was constantly checking her gums wondering when the rest would appear! But honestly, it is completely within the normal range, so please don't stress too much. The side incisors beside the front teeth can come in anywhere from 9 to 16 months, and the first molars don't usually arrive until 13 to 19 months, so your little one is right on track. My friend brought her son to a paediatric dentist just for peace of mind around this age, and the dentist reassured her that as long as the teeth are developing under the gums, there is nothing to worry about, late teething can even mean stronger enamel. Every baby really does go at their own pace, so hang in there, those teeth will pop through before you know it!
