Ideal temperature for baby’s milk

Hi mummies, can i know what’s the ideal temperature for baby’s milk, be it warmed breastmilk or formula milk. As i just bought a hot water dispenser, lowest temperature is 45 degree. Will it be too hot for baby? Or i will need to let it cool for awhile or mix with room temp water abit ? #FTM

I do mixed feeding for my baby who is 3 months now. 44degree for fm and she’s fine with it. Bm I just soak the bottle in hot water til it’s warm.

NUH NIPT test

Hi, I did the igene nipt test at NUH on 3 July. I called igene labs and they told me that they had sent the results to NUH on 12 July. But I've not heard from the clinic. Very anxious because my FTS was high risk. Does anyone know whether no news is good news when it comes to NUH? I know this seems to be the case in KKH. It makes sense for the clinic to call urgently if there was an issue. I've tried emailing and asking the call centre to get the clinic to get back to me but no one is responding. Would appreciate any insights. My next appt is on 19 July but the wait is terrible. Thanks! #advicepls #FTM #firsttimemom #pleasehelp #firstbaby

I really feel you on this, the wait after a high-risk FTS is just so hard and I can only imagine how anxious you must be feeling right now. I don't have direct experience with NUH specifically, but from what I know of KKH, no news does tend to mean the results are reassuring, and clinics here usually do prioritise calling quickly if something needs urgent attention. That said, since you haven't been able to get a response and your next appointment feels so far away, it might be worth walking into the clinic in person to ask them to pull up your results, sometimes a face-to-face request gets things moving faster than calls or emails. Hang in there, you are doing all the right things by following up, and I hope you get your answer very soon.

Switching Milk

Hello mummies , can anyone let me know how do i switch from stage 1 fm to stage 2 fm? Feeding my LO NAN Optipro 1. And also do any mummies experience watery poop when giving ur LO NAN? Heard that it's normal. If u have a photo of ur LO poo , do share with me 😊

First few bottles you’ll have to mix stage 1 and stage 2 together then gradually reduce stage 1’s powder. Feeding my baby Nan and no watery poops thou.

17months baby poop

Last week my baby poop like milky mix with choc like crunch oreo look with milk. It happened only once then her poop like normal. However today again she poop the same one but very small poop like contipation look. Do i need to worry about this or is it normal? #pleasehelp #firsttimemom

I really feel you on this, being a first-time mum and seeing unusual poop is so worrying. Since it has happened twice now and the second time looked like constipation, it would be good to bring her to see the PD just to be safe, so they can check if her diet or digestion needs any adjustment. Bring a photo of the poop if you can, it really helps the doctor see exactly what you are describing. You are doing the right thing by paying close attention, hang in there mama.

Hi mummies who feed their baby formula milk to supplement low supply of BM, how many ml of FM did you feed baby when theyre back from hospital - few weeks old ? How many scoops of FM to how many ml of water ?

I really feel you on this, babymoon sounds so exciting and it makes total sense to stock up while you're there! From what I know, Pigeon products like nursing pads, nipple cream, and baby bottles tend to be quite a bit cheaper in Japan than what we pay here in Singapore. Merries and Moony diapers are also very popular picks for parents to grab there since the pricing is much more value for money lah. I would also suggest checking out the baby skincare range at drugstores like Matsumoto Kiyoshi, as friends who have been there say you can find some really good deals on lotions and gentle washes.

Sterilize baby bottles

When did you start washing and sterilize your baby bottles before delivery or after baby’s back home when need to use ? Can i just wash it and sterilise few weeks towards edd, keep in ziplock, and then sterilise again when need to use, without washing again ? #FTM

I only started washing when baby is home. Anyway drying and sterilise takes 30 mins for mine (Haenim). I wouldn’t wash too early, maybe a few days or 1 week before EDD is good enough.

Rants from a FTM

Hi mamas. Just wanna rant here. I’m currently staying with my husband & mil together with my baby. I have no issues with my mil prior arrival of my baby. However, nowadays my mil has a habit of passing remarks about my baby which is deemed unnecessary & annoying? Such as when my baby’s crying hysterically out of the blue she would literally say ‘diam’ as in quiet. I’ve been hearing this & I feel like I should address it to her. Like seriously you’re asking a baby to shut up when their only form of communication is crying? It’s like people asking you to shut up when you’re talking? Sometimes she would also comment ‘so teruk’ meaning ‘so bad’ when baby is crying. Honestly, it’s annoying & if I were to answer her back, I’m afraid I would be disrespectful .

I would be annoyed and also concerned too, definitely wouldn’t want to leave the baby with her alone lol. Does your husband also hear her saying that? Might be better if he tells her instead to stop doing that
