While sleeping, my 3 months old baby would occasionally throw her hands upwards and tremble. She may also cry out loud after throwing her hands up. This may happen for no reason (no sudden loud noise or no one touch her suddenly). My mum blames me for not swaddling her, but she dislikes being swaddled since we brought her home. She will force herself out of the swaddle when we swaddle her during her deep sleep, or cry to get out of the swaddle if she can't escape. Now, my mum wants to wrap her hand tightly so that her hands will not "fly" upwards when she startles. She says that my baby has Jing Feng and wants to feed my baby with Jing Feng San. Should I stop her?

I understand that baby below 1 years old cannot take honey. But how about honey sweet potato that is meant to make puree or mox with porridge? Thank u

My girl is 8.5 months. Having flu. Doc gave nose drops n medication. Does not seem to work. Any other medication or remdies that help. TIA

Perhaps you wana consider seeking a second opinion. I will normally do that if my kids don't recover.

My son had bronchitis at 1 month and was given antibiotics. He is now down with cough and nose congestion again at 2.5months old. Should I monitor him for more days before bringing him to see doc? I dun want him to be dependent on medicine or antibiotics.

If he isn't showing too much discomfort and can still drink milk regularly, then I reckon it's okay to monitor him for a day or two before taking him to the doctor. Personally though, I'm the paranoid sort and at such a young age, I would rather be safe than sorry to seek medical advice. But that's just me. For cough and congestion, you can use a humidifier in baby's room to help alleviate the symptoms of congestion. As for the cough, the best is to keep baby hydrated. I hope your baby feels better soon!

Hi anyone can advice LO coming 12 mths paracetamol's dosage? TIA

This website has a paracetamol calculator for babies, according to their weight. For a 8kg baby (estimated average weight of a 12 month old), the calculator estimates a dose of 5ml every 4-6 hours. Moms & dads...any of u experiencing ur LO having sleep regression? What do u guys do?

Hi mommy, sleep regression can be a quite an experience but here are 2 tried and tested strategies that my circle of friends swear by: 1) You can try swaddling baby, if you are okay with the idea, offering a pacifier is good too. These techniques can help soothe your fussy baby, and to promote sleep. 2) Another way is to give baby a dream feed. This does not always work for all babies but it sure helps. Offering a dream feed and another one right before you go to bed might just help your baby sleep slightly longer. Hope this helps!

when you freeze purée, do you let the purée cool down to room temperature before u put in freezer? Or you freeze while it's hot?

Hi mummies, my LO is only 6 months old. He is having a bad cough. Is there any medicine for him? Can he drink honey?

Babies below the age of 1 should not take honey! Might cause infant botulism.

Hi, I have try feeding my 3weeks old using the smallest teats for her Avent and pigeon bottle however whenever we try feeding her, is either the milk will leak from the side of her mouth or she is struggling drinking feel like is choking. Is the teats too fast for her but hers is the smallest teats we bought 0 mth.Or i should change bottle but it seems that tis two bottles avent and pigeon is the smallest teats we got for her. Pls advice Worried Mummy

Try to use Nuk. I have been using Nuk since day 1. Get the smallest size teats.
