Anyone gave birth in KKH?

Have you ever realised when your baby went to their nursery for whatever reasons or tests etc, when the nurse returns your baby back to you, your baby will smell nice.. smells like lavender.. i really wanna know what smell is that.. any nurses from kkh here..? Or anyone knows what product they use on our babies..? Would love to know what product is that.. many many thanks in advanced!

I gave my boy at KKH too and I noticed the same thing! I think it's their baby wash or lotion they use during the routine checks and cleaning, but honestly I never managed to ask the nurses directly what brand it was. Maybe try asking the nurses next time your baby goes for a procedure or test, they're usually quite helpful about these things. Some mums swear it's just the standard hospital-grade products they use, but that lavender scent is really quite lovely isn't it.

LO 6 weeks old - potential chicken pox

Hi - my LO came into contact with someone who had a couple of weeks ago and we are monitoring her temperature, signs for any rashes etc. if she happened to get infected. Can any parent share experiences of what to do if they had experienced chicken pox in their LO? We are awaiting feedback from her pediatrician but any advice would definitely help.#advicepls

Oh mama, sending you so much love, a 6-week-old is so tiny, so I completely understand the worry! A few of us in my mum circle have been through this and the main thing everyone says is to keep LO as comfortable as possible, cool baths really help with the itching, and dabbing calamine lotion gently on the spots can soothe the skin too. My friend brought her infant to SBCC Baby & Child Clinic when her LO had a similar scare and said the doctor was really thorough about explaining symptomatic treatment, including safe fever relief options, just note that aspirin is a big no-no for chicken pox in children as it can cause a serious complication, so stick to what the paed recommends for fever. Also important to know that your LO will be infectious from a day or two before the rash appears right until all the blisters have dried up, so do isolate carefully to protect others, especially anyone who is immunocompromised. Since your LO is only 6 weeks old, this is definitely one where you want to follow your paediatrician's advice closely rather than manage at home alone, do please check in with your doctor or a specialist before trying anything!

SGH Gynae recommendation plsssssssss

need recommendations for a specialist gynae in SGH

Dr Devendra.... best ever! Super friendly, realistic, accurate and keeps calm. Had all 3 pregnancies checked, babies delivered by him. Only downside is beds are really tight cuz they have limited wards, the rest are for normal patients in sgh. But otherwise is ok 😍

DR STELLA SUGIANTO FROM KKH

Has anyone taken Dr Stella Sugianto from kkh before?

I've been following Dr Stella Sugianto throughout my whole pregnancy, from SKH to KKH. She is super patient and offered to see me at her clinic in KKH before I made the decision of the ward. Patient through the appointments, the only time I waited super long was the appt at KKH, but she did apologise mentioning there was something on with the previous patients which could be understood as there tend to be urgent matters on and off.

Twice C-Section

Hi moms! Anyone had gone through twice c-section for their birth? Could you share your experience and how’s the recovery and how long was the operation from the 1st c-section and the 2nd one.

I had a c section in 2022 and just had my second c section one week ago. both recoveries were good, just be mindful don't carry heavy things. the wound will be covered with waterproof plaster so can just shower as usual. I have gynae follow up every week to change the dressing for the wound. my second op was slightly longer than my first op but was because my baby was in breech position for the second op. all the best to you!

2 yr. Poop problem

Anyone with same issue as mine feel free to advice My 2 yr old is pooping once a week, can anyone share some tips to help poop on a daily basis?

What helped some mums I know is adding more water, fruits like papaya/pear/prune, and foods with fibre like veggies and oats. Some also switch milk a bit if dairy seems to make it worse. And trying to build a routine like sitting on potty after meals can help train the body too. If it’s still once a week or baby seems to strain/pain, I feel better to check with PD also just to make sure nothing else going on

please don't wait yah. Any sign of blood during pregnancy, especially at 35 weeks, is something you need to get checked out right away. Please head to A&E or your labour ward now, or call 995 if you feel unwell. I know it can be hard to tell sometimes what you are seeing, but the doctors and nurses have the right equipment to check properly and make sure you and baby are safe. This is really not something to monitor at home or wait until your next appointment. Please go now and update us when you can.
