Hi my 4 years old child he can tell numbers abcd order wise but he cannot identify letters numbers

Hi, I think it's quite normal at 4 years old to be able to recite numbers and letters in order but struggle to recognize them individually, since reciting is more about memory and rhythm while identifying needs him to understand each symbol separately. That said, if you're concerned about how he's progressing with colors and shapes too, it might be good to bring him to see the PD just to check if everything is on track or if he needs a bit more support. Some kids pick these things up a bit later and that's fine, but a quick chat with the doctor will put your mind at ease and give you some ideas on how to help him at home.
