Oh dear, I really feel for you, pregnancy nausea is so tough. Please don't take someone else's prescription medication though, a few of us mum friends have talked about this and we all agreed it is just not safe to share prescriptions even when the intention is kind. This one better not wait a week, please call your gynae or GP today and explain how you are feeling, because they can often arrange an earlier appointment or an interim prescription for you.

Kkh male gynae recommendations

For male gynaes at KKH, one name that keeps coming up among a few of us mums is Prof John Tee, he's known for handling complicated pregnancies and C-sections really well, and he has a strong reputation for high-risk cases. Just a heads up though, he's quite direct and matter-of-fact, so if you need a lot of reassurance and hand-holding, he might feel a little blunt for your liking. One of my mum friends also mentioned Dr Edwin Thia, who used to head the high-risk department at KKH before moving to private practice, so he brings a lot of experience from there. Hope that helps narrow things down for you!

Confinement Nanny

I am considering New Life Confinement Nanny (not the Centre) as they are one of the few that allows us to interview nanny before confirming one. Anyone had any reviews / experience to share? Thank you.

A few of us in my mum group have used New Life Confinement Nanny, and the fact that they let you interview the nanny beforehand is honestly such a plus, one of my mum friends said it made a huge difference because she could check if the nanny's approach matched what she wanted for breastfeeding and newborn care. They also have a tiered rating system where you can pay a bit more to pick a more experienced nanny with a stronger track record, which some of us felt was worth the extra cost for peace of mind. That said, experiences do vary, most mums were happy, but there were a couple who felt their nanny wasn't open to feedback or wasn't as thorough with the baby, so it really does depend on the individual nanny you end up with. The interview step helps a lot though, so go in with a clear list of your expectations and don't be shy to ask detailed questions about their newborn care routine.

Anyone heard any reviews on MapleBear IC @ CT Hub Lavender? Not many reviews on Google. Appreciate the response!

Hey! A few of us in my mum group have been looking into this too, since it's quite a convenient location between Lavender and Bendemeer. From what we've gathered, MapleBear CT Hub does feel more premium and well-maintained compared to your typical infant care centres, which is reassuring for the little ones. That said, one of my mum friends actually mentioned that the Kallang outlet tends to get better word-of-mouth feedback overall, so it might be worth visiting both to compare if you're open to it. Reviews for CT Hub specifically are still quite thin on the ground, so honestly the best bet is to go for a tour and ask the teachers directly, sometimes that tells you more than any review ever could!

Baby bump small but feels heavy

Im 17 weeks and although my baby bump is still small, it somehow always feel hard, tight and heavy. To the point that it always feels uncomfortable to walk and even lay down. Is it normal? #firsttimemom #firstbaby

I really feel you on this, that tight, heavy feeling can be so unsettling especially when you're not even showing much yet, but from what I've heard from other mums, it's actually very common at 17 weeks! Your uterus is stretching and growing quite a bit around this stage, so that hardness and heaviness is usually just your body adjusting, and most mums find it eases off after a day or two as the muscles get used to the change. My friend went through the exact same thing with her first and mentioned it was partly Braxton Hicks contractions, which can actually start this early and make the bump feel rock hard most of the time, as long as they're not painful, it's generally considered normal. That said, since every pregnancy is different and you're feeling uncomfortable even when lying down, it's really worth bringing this up with your gynae or doctor just to get proper peace of mind, okay?

Hi any mummies here send their baby to superland infant care? Specifically the one in Woodlands? Any review?

My friend sent her baby to Superland Woodlands and said the teachers are very warm, her girl settled in quite fast. Someone in my mum WhatsApp group mentioned the activities are quite engaging, kids seem to enjoy going. Overall mostly good feedback lah, though a few mummies said best to go down personally and visit first before committing.

My LO 19months used to eat food like egg, porridge, bread, cookies but now she refuses to eat and only wants to drink milk. She drinks milk 5x a day. I tried to encourage her to eat together during mealtime and let her use her utensils but she will only eat 1 or 2 spoon and then play with the food. Kindly advice me. I feel so stress whenever i try to feel feed her. I’m worried that she’s not getting enough nutrients. I still continue to give her vitamins. #Needadvice #firsttimemom

I totally understand how stressful this can feel, mama. Around this age, many toddlers go through picky eating phases and suddenly prefer milk because it feels familiar and comforting. My child also had a phase where milk was all they wanted, and mealtimes became so exhausting for me emotionally. One thing that helped was slowly reducing milk intake instead of stopping suddenly. Sometimes when they drink milk too often, they simply don’t feel hungry enough for solids. You can try offering food first before milk and spacing the milk feeds out a little more gradually. Also, try not to pressure her too much during meals. Toddlers can sense our stress, and it can make them resist eating even more. Some days they really survive on just a few bites, and surprisingly, that can still be normal. Continue offering different foods without forcing, and let her explore even if she only plays with the food for now. Eating together as a family, keeping mealtime relaxed, and offering small portions helped a lot for us too. Sometimes changing the presentation like finger foods, fun shapes, or letting them self-feed more can encourage interest again. Since she’s still drinking milk and taking vitamins, try not to panic too much. But if this continues for a long time, or if you notice weight loss, low energy, or developmental concerns, it may be good to check with a pediatrician just for reassurance. You’re doing your best, and many moms go through this stage too ❤️

Non -stop coughing for a month

Im currently 22 weeks preggy, and have been having bad phlegm cough for more than a month and runny nose. There were days when it was better then there were days when i just coughed non stop till esp at night, till i puked. I realised that i keep falling sick ever since im pregnant and my immune system is something else. I did went to gynae bt they just prescribed cough medicine. Fyi i alr recovered from covid more than 2 months ago. Do any pregnant mummies gg thru this ? Cs my stomach getting more cramp when i keep coughing and honestly scared itll affect baby 😣😣 #FTM

the cramps won’t affect baby don’t worry. try to see tcm it may help. or take more honey
