can my baby inside my tummy sense their dad from inside?

long story short I’m no longer with my ex. And we decided to co parent. Met him and his family today for lunch. We didn’t interact as we’re not really on speaking terms. but he spoke to his parents all. Could it be baby hearing his voice or sensing that he was there? I’m current 6 months and usually my baby wouldn’t kick that much during lunch. But as my ex was speaking all I could feel was my baby dancing and kicking in my belly. Could it be I’m overthinking or can my baby actually senses and recognise his papa voice?(fyi we broke up when I was ard 4 months)

Yes, babies can actually recognise voices from inside the womb, and by 6 months they can hear quite well already. Your baby has been hearing his dad's voice since before the breakup, so it makes total sense the kicking picked up when he started talking.

Enquiry regarding Elective C Sect B1 at KKH

Hello, this is my second pregnancy and I am considering for Elective C Sect since I had emergency C Sect for my first baby. Anyone has any idea regarding the rough cost of a B1 ward for elective C sect? Thank you :)

Hi Shazwinadrah! Congrats on your second pregnancy and totally understandable that you want to plan ahead cost-wise. For B1 ward at KKH, here is a rough breakdown based on what mummies have shared: The B1 ward at KKH is a 4-bedded room with a daily room rate starting from $75.60 per day inclusive of meals. For an elective C-section you are typically looking at a 3 nights 4 days stay (3D4N). For the overall elective C-section bill at B1, a rough estimate before Medisave and MediShield Life claims would be in the range of $6,000 to $10,000 depending on your doctor fees and any additional procedures. After Medisave and MediShield Life kicks in, many mummies end up paying significantly less out of pocket. As a point of reference, one mummy who had an emergency C-section at B ward in November 2024 had a total bill of $11,925.38 before subsidies, but after government subsidy and Medisave, paid $0 out of pocket. An elective C-section on the subsidised route at B1 would be in a similar ballpark before claims. Since you had a previous emergency C-section, your doctor will likely classify this as a medically indicated elective C-section which helps with Medisave claimability. My best advice is to use the KKH Bill Estimator on their website as it gives you a personalised estimate based on your ward class and procedure. You can also request a financial counselling session at KKH which they typically arrange before your admission date. Hope this helps with your planning!

About 30 minutes in the surgery room. 1 hour in the observation room. And they wheel u back once ur the numb on your leg subsides

Grey poop is not normal for a baby. Did you give a lot of spinach? It could be the iron from the spinach. However, I would advise you to consult a PD to have a peace of mind.

Is it normal to waddle after first week of delivery

How do you walk in the first week of post pregnancy? Is it normal to waddle still and experience edema in legs? Also feel that can't walk too much as the c section wound is still healing.

Child travel with grandparents only consent letter

My child will be travelling to Guangzhou with grandparents and Family members but not with husband and I. I am going to prepare a child travel consent letter and a photocopy of her birth cert. My qn would be, does the letter has to be by lawyer and do I have to provide husband's birth cert to prove grandparent's names? Hope someone here is able to share experience or know the answers. Thank you

My aunt brought my Bby to the cruise actually no need lawyer just ask the grandparents to call u and say u consent them to the person if they asked and also write a letter to incase if they still ask just ask them to call u for consent
