How to choose a baby bassinet? Is it necessary?

I prefer a co-sleeper instead of a bassinet. They have super tiny ones if you have space constraints. It's safer and you can just reach over to attend to your baby. I had a Moses basket but found it cumbersome, though it was easy to carry baby around the house with it.
