Is it safe to have sex if I feel uterine tightening after sex? How often is too often?

1y trước

Feeling uterine tightening or contractions after sex during pregnancy is relatively common and usually not a cause for concern. These contractions are typically referred to as "Braxton Hicks contractions" or "practice contractions." They are irregular, mild contractions of the uterus that can be felt during pregnancy, especially in the second and third trimesters. Braxton Hicks contractions are generally considered normal and are often described as a tightening or hardening sensation in the lower abdomen. If the contractions are however regular, sustained and increasingly painful, then it's important to contact your healthcare provider for guidance and reassurance. They can provide personalised advice based on your specific situation and medical history.
