have been suggested by a few people to try goat milk for my daughter 2,5 yo. she has a very sensitive digestion. whta's the best way to transition... bcs one wrong step can get her sick like diarrhea and vomitting so bad.

For a child with sensitive digestion, transitioning to a goat milk-based formula should be done gradually to minimize the risk of gastrointestinal upset, such as diarrhea or vomiting. The most recommended method is to replace one full feed at a time with the new formula over the course of 7 to 10 days, rather than mixing formulas within the same bottle. This is especially important because different formulas may have different powder-to-water ratios, which can affect nutrient concentration and digestion if mixed incorrectly. During the transition, observe your child for any signs of intolerance or digestive discomfort. If any symptoms appear, slow the transition or seek guidance from a healthcare professional.

I’m a working mum, every morning rush until cannot. My supply drop a lot, so now must supplement with formula. Heard goat’s milk more gentle, but I worry not enough nutrition compared to cow’s milk. True or not?

Whether the formula is goat’s milk or cow’s milk-based, both are required to meet nutritional standards set by regulatory authorities and are fortified to support infant growth and development. Goat milk protein has some structural differences from cow milk protein, and early research suggests it may be better tolerated by some infants. However, the evidence is still emerging, and individual tolerance can vary.

I’ve heard that goat milk is less ‘heaty’ than cow’s milk, is that true Been eyeing on giving my LO (10 mo) bcs some of my friends said the risk of allergy is quite low compared to regular formula

2t trước

The idea of goat’s milk being more or less ‘heaty’ comes from traditional practices and beliefs. From a nutritional standpoint, both cow’s milk and goat’s milk formulas are complete and balanced when prepared correctly. While goat milk protein differs slightly from cow milk protein, it is not classified as hypoallergenic, and some children with cow’s milk protein allergy may still react to it. If allergies are a concern, it's best to seek advice from a healthcare professional.

do we have study already aotu goats milk. not so sure want to give my baby this. but some people around me say it's better that cows milk especially for those who get allergy easily

There is an important distinction between pure goat’s milk and goat milk-based infant formula. While unmodified goat’s milk is not recommended for infants under 12 months, goat milk-based formulas are nutritionally complete and regulated for infant use. Although goat and cow milk proteins share similarities, making goat milk formula generally unsuitable for infants with diagnosed cow’s milk protein allergy, some emerging research suggests differences in how the immune system may respond to each. Further research is ongoing, and parents are encouraged to speak with a healthcare professional to determine the most appropriate feeding option for their baby.

My elder daughter ok with cow’s milk formula, but my younger one always diarrhoea after drinking. Can siblings be so different? Should I try goat’s milk for the younger one

2t trước

It is quite common for siblings to respond differently to the same food or formulas. Each child has a unique digestive system or immune response. Diarrhea after feeding could indicate mild intolerance to some component of the formula. However, it is important to rule out the causes of diarrhea such as infections or feeding technique issues. Switching to goat’s milk formula is not a guaranteed solution for all infants with digestive issues. Before making any changes, it is important to discuss with your paediatrician or dietitian to evaluate her symptoms.

My baby since newborn always cry after drinking cow’s milk formula, stomach like very bloated. We tried a few brands but still the same. Goat’s milk can help or not ah?

2t trước

It is not uncommon for some infants to experience discomfort such as crying and bloating, after feeding with cow’s milk formula. These symptoms could due to variety of reasons such as lactose intolerance, sensitivity to certain cow milk proteins or just general feeding intolerance or other conditions such as reflux. Goat’s milk formula is again, not a guaranteed solution for all infants, especially those with cow’s milk protein allergy, as cross-reactivity can occur. It is important to consult your paediatrician to assess your baby’s symptoms, consider possible allergies or intolerance before switching formulas.

Hi Jennifer, I heard from my friends who has kids around mine that goat milk formula easier to digest. is this true or just marketing? or same as other milk formula brands?

2t trước

Goat milk has smaller fat globules and lower levels of α‑S1‑casein, which may form softer curds and be easier to digest for some children. However, clinical studies show that both goat and cow milk-based formulas are nutritionally complete and generally well tolerated in healthy infants. For most children without feeding issues, either option is suitable.

I'm always curious about the taste. Goat milk sweeter than cow’s milk or same same? Different with milk drink by adults and baby milk formula right?

2t trước

Goat’s milk naturally tastes slightly sweeter and milder to some people and it varies based on processing and freshness. However, the taste differences may be less noticeable in infant formulas because, infant formulas are processed and fortified to meet the nutritional standard and there for changes the flavour significantly compared to fresh milk

hi... My son almost 2 years old, very picky eater, milk still his main nutrition. Is goat’s milk suitable for toddler also, or only for babies

2t trước

Goat milk formula or plain goat milk are safe options for children over 1-year-old. However, plain goat milks are low in iron and folate, so it should be used alongside a balanced diet. For picky eaters, it is better to choose fortified formula as a top up for growth and development. However, milk alone should not be the only source of nutrition in the long term.

If baby allergic to cow’s milk protein, goat milk can or still cannot?? Last time I give cow’s milk, he got rashes until quite bad...

2t trước

@ anonymous: Goat’s milk contains proteins that are similar to those in cow’s milk, and in some cases, may still trigger allergic reactions. If your toddler is experiencing symptoms such as a rash and requires a hypoallergenic formula, switching to goat’s milk may not fully address the issue. It’s best to consult your pediatrician before making any changes to your child’s feeding routine.
