Bottles for Infant Care
Hi, FTM here. My LO is going into infant care soon and am wondering how many milk bottles do I need to pack? I am exclusive breastfeeding - can I pack milk in milk storage bags or must it be portioned into bottles?

Hi Congrats on the upcoming daycare transition-totally normal to have these questions as a first-time mom. 🍼 How many bottles to pack? For infant care, most daycares will typically ask for: * **4 to 6 bottles per day** (sometimes more if baby feeds frequently) * Each bottle usually pre-filled based on your baby’s feeding schedule (e.g., 3–5 oz each, depending on age) A good rule is to ask your specific daycare, but 4–6 is the most common range. ### 🍼 Bottles vs. storage bags Most infant care centers **prefer milk in bottles, not storage bags**, because: * Easier and safer for staff to feed * Reduces spills and handling * Helps track how much baby drank However, you *can* still use breast milk storage bags for: * Transporting milk to daycare * Then daycare can pour it into bottles if they allow it But many centers require **ready-to-feed labeled bottles (name + date + amount)**. Practical tip Prepare: * Pre-filled bottles for the day * 1–2 extra bottles (just in case) * Clearly labeled with baby’s name and date It’s also a good idea to confirm their exact bottle policy since each facility can differ slightly. --- If you’re also organizing home maintenance or service-related setups, this local resource may help with property care info: https://roofcleaningolympia.com/

different schools different practice. my kid’s ifc suggested 4-5 bottles to bring to school. bmilk to put in storage bag, cannot put in bottles first - cos fridge no space for everyone’s bottle.
usually school will have a quick call with the parent a few weeks before the LO starts infant care. they will have a list of things for you to prepare or pack daily.
pretty sure the school will send a pack list as different schools have different practices
