Can my baby's name influence his personality? Our astrologer seems to think so. Is it true?

Ya, many people say so and when my baby was born not any astrologer but one f my cousins told me so. Since, she is a very learned person and I kind of look up to her, I thought that it can happen. But later, I tried to remember the names to people whom I came across in my life while growing up, and so many people came to my mind whose name were quite meaningful and weighty but they themselves weren't any close to what their name signifies. One cobbler in my home town was Rajkumar. Our maid for years had the name Vidya, and she didn't know how to write. And there were similar such examples. You will anyway keep a good name for your child so it is good if it influences his personality and if it doesn't, even then it is fine.

I would say - NO. A baby's name has nothing to do with a baby's personality. As long as the name is pleasing enough, a name is a name. Your baby's personality will be influenced by a host of other very important and realistic things, such as what values you teach, how you do things at home, the way you respect others and how you behave with your baby as well as others. All these are strong and very influencing factors.

Whether or not the name you give your child will influence the child's personality is scientifically debatable however I am a strong believer in giving your child a name that is meaningful , strong and something for them to be proud of when they one day gets asked what the meaning is behind their name.

Maybe and maybe not. My son's name was a "in the heat of the moment" decision by my hubby to name him after Chris Evans (Capt America). I even wanted to name him Cullen after a character in Dragon Age, the game I played prior to falling pregnant and not finishing. :O

Personally, I don't believe in this though many people have belief in numerology and astrology and I respect their choice. A personality is developed by the surroundings, upbringing, influences, and to an extent the inherent nature of a person.

Yes, I think names can somewhat influence a person. Imagine if your baby’s name sounds close to a bad word, surely he or she will be made fun of or bullied. and that may cause him or her to be introverted.

I think somehow i believe in that. My baby's name meaning is strong. He kicks very strong since he was in my tummy.

maybe and maybe not. but when i interact with my adult friends, most of their names suit them a lot!

It's not scientifically proven...Just go with your feelings on your child's name(:
