How many of you bribe your kids to do things? Do you ever think of consequences ?

I think no parent should do this as it will have a very bad impact on the kid. The kid will always keep asking for things in return to do any task.

What have been the important landmarks/ milestones observed in you child’s development till now?

My kids are grown up now and I don't clearly remember the exact time when they achieved their landmarks. But yes..turned around at 4 months, sat independently may be at 6-7 months, walked at 11 months, started blabbering words from 9-10 months and so on..

What did you see as a child that affected your life?

Constant bickering and fighting between my parents which led to their divorce. I try to be as conscious of arguing with my husband in front of the kids.

Is it ok to defend your child in front of others even if he/she is faulty ?

No..that's not correct at all as it gives wrong signals to the child. He thinks he can get away with everything since his parents will always defend him even if he is wrong. Talk to the child at home. Explain to him that what he did was not good and shouldn't repeat it.

I found sexually explicit photos on my daughter's iPhone; should I punish her?

punishment!!! pls choose between open communication or distrust. how can u punish her without knowing how it all got there? and why should u punish when u can discuss.! it's a good opportunity for u to sit her down in a relaxed calm environment and have clear open discussion. ur daughter can clearly guage that becoz u r uncomfortable talking to her thts why u chose the quickest option.... punishment. and today u punish her, she will obey but u piqued her curiosity. and the info she will search for to get her curiosity curbed is not at all good and reliable...can u trust her friends or internet or YouTube etc to answer her questions better than u? so don't punish, listen and communicate in a calm way. be her friend...that will be a more easier relationship to play than tht of a parent

My six year old boy goes to school in the morning. How much play time he should have with other kids, for optimal emotion and personality development?

Well, given the fact that he already goes to school, I'm sure he's already interacting with similar age kids which will help his emotional growth as well as personality development. Once back home, you can see how much time he has, especially if he has school work or other classes to attend. A good two hours' free play with other kids should be ideal though :)

Do I have to bring my child up in Mumbai? I think Jamshedpur is a better town as I want my child to explore more natural curricular activities. What do you suggest?

why are you concerned about bringing up your child in mumbai if you feel that jamshedpur is also a good choice? if you are already settled there, i suggest you can let your child enjoy the life there, and later, you can always send your child to the metro for higher studies absolutely your choice
