Itchiness around C-section area

Hi mummies, 2nd time mum here. Currently 16 weeks pregnant. Recently my C-section area been quite itchy and I tend to want to scratch it. Sometimes I think I over did it (Cus is very itchy 😵‍💫) and the skin “tear” and have small patches of blood here and there (is like when you scratch too much at any part of your body, the outer layer broke then became raw and have blood. Lol idk if y’all can imagine or do I make sense?) Isit normal??

That sounds really uncomfortable, and I think a lot of mummies who have had a C-section before can relate to that itchy feeling around the scar, especially during pregnancy when your skin is stretching and changing. You are definitely not alone in this. Since you are scratching to the point where the skin is breaking and bleeding, it would be good to bring it up with your gynae or PD at your next visit, just to make sure there is nothing that needs attention and maybe they can suggest something safe to soothe the area during pregnancy.

Any reviews for MY World at Upper Serangoon View? From playgroup to kindergarten

I am wondering how is the teachers, curriculum, cleanliness like?

Hi mum, I don’t have first-hand experience with MY World Upper Serangoon View, but I checked around and it’s actually an ECDA Anchor Operator preschool, so fees are more subsidised and the curriculum is quite structured with play-based learning, literacy, numeracy and character development built in. The centre runs from playgroup all the way to K2, and generally follows a routine-based programme with trained educators and standard teacher-child ratios

Second pregnancy

Hi mummies. I am giving birth soon and I am feeling so so scared. The first time I gave birth during the labour i had fits from the pain & it was overall just a traumatic experience. any words of encouragement or advise for me?

Oh mama, sending you so much love, a few of us in my mum circle have been through really scary first births, so please know you are absolutely not alone in feeling this way. The thing that helped some of them most was speaking to a counsellor or therapist before the birth, not after, because working through the fear early made them feel so much more in control going in. One of my mum friends also said that being really open with her gynae and delivery team about her first experience made a big difference, the doctors adjusted the birth plan and kept her much more informed every step of the way, which took away a lot of that helpless feeling. Some mums also found that doing a proper birth plan together with their ob-gyn, including pain relief options mapped out in advance, helped them feel less at the mercy of whatever happens on the day. You have already been through the hardest version of this, and going in this time with more preparation and support around you is genuinely different, do please also check all of this with your own doctor or specialist so they can tailor the plan specifically to your history and what happened with your fits.

Mulberry @ Braddell or TwinkleKidz @ Toa Payoh

Hi parents, any of your toddlers in the above schools? Would love to hear some feedback on the tchs and overall mangement :) tks!

A few of us mums in the area have been comparing these two as well! From what I've heard, Mulberry at Braddell has a really strong principal and the teachers are known for being responsive and accountable, which is always reassuring when you're leaving your little one there. That said, one of my mum friends actually visited Mulberry and mentioned the infant care area felt a bit dim and had a musky smell, so it might be worth doing a personal tour before deciding. For TwinkleKidz Toa Payoh, we haven't gathered as much specific feedback yet, so if anyone in this group has firsthand experience, would love to hear more too!

Hi, any edd june 2022 mummygroup to join? 🙂

Hey there, congrats on your pregnancy! A few of us from my mum circle actually joined a Singapore Mummies group that covers 2022 babies, and it has been really helpful for sharing tips on gynaes, hospital bags, and all those early pregnancy jitters. Some mums found it useful to connect with others who have the same EDD so you can track milestones together and ask very specific questions about that stage. You can try searching for "SG Mummies 2022", quite a few of my mum friends found their group that way and made some really lovely connections!

Milk choices for 1.5 year old

my boy takes Breastmilk since born and reject all types of formula. he is going to child care soon so I wanna introduce him to other milk alternatives.. is UHT milk a good choice? what other choices do I have? I was told by the school that they serve Fernleaf. I am afraid my boy will refuse to drink.. I am worry that he doesnt get the proper nutrients in school... (he doesnt eat well on solid food too...)
