My daughter suffers from asthma since the age of 9 months. She has had 2 major attacks till date wherein she had to be hospitalised. What changes can i make to control the occurrence of the attacks?

Being too lenient in parenting could lead to problems for kids in the long run,hence the phrase "spare the rod and spoil the child". Sometimes we do have to raise hands on the child. Where do we draw the line as we do not want to labelled as abusive parents? Suggestions please.

Obviously beating black and blue at every small mistake of the child will make you an abusive parent! One light spank in the back won't! But disciplining can be done without raising hands too!

My wife is over obsessive with my 13 month old son in every aspect. Even while potty training she puts the pot on the bed lest he should tip over and hurt himself if he was on the floor. How do I get rid of her obsessive behaviour?

I have a 4 year old son who goes to a primary school. We are a gujarati family with liberal religious views.We have not emphasized about god or religion to him.One day he came back from school and told us there is only 1 god and that is Allah.When asked,he said his teacher who is Muslim told him that. We do not want to make a big deal about it but he keeps saying this often.What do I do?

No mother is perfect. Every mother has her own strengths and flaws. Do not underestimate yourself as a mother. You are doing the best you can.

My 11 year old daughter has been taunted by some classmates for being a non-vegetarian for a while now. She has become very distressed and has stopped eating meat completely. I am shocked and don't know what to do. Please help.

It is disgusting that now kids are being bullied and looked down upon for their eating preferences. I think you should meet the teacher in the school and immediately bring up this thing in their notice so that they take action. As far your kids are concerned make them understand that no one is good or bad or can be looked down upon because of what they eat or do not eat. Boost their confidence so that they are not bogged down by such stupid inferences.
