How do i know if my child is ready for kindergarten?

if your child is telling you every interesting thing in school or about his/her friends I think they are getting ready. Everyday they are looking forward to go school and not crying.

How can I teach my child to read WORDS without memorising especially when reading her story books? I want her to recognize them

I learnt to read and spell through mastering phonics. Phonics is a series of rules that children have to apply when they are sounding out new words. Even as an adult, when I am unsure on how to spell or pronounce a certain word, I instinctively use my knowledge in phonics to sound out or to spell the word. Is I can read program that good for phonics?I find their prices are the most expensive out of so many program. It is $500+ for both week days and weekends . Is it really worth to give it a try?or is there other good phonics program which are more affordable ? I am residing in Yishun .

Learning for kids should be moderately paced, it should not be fast paced. As such, I think "I can read it" pace is quite optimum.

My toddler just started going to school. And I'm really having a difficult time asking him to do his assignments. Is there any way we can make doing assignments more fun?

According to a website I've read, first, start off in making your place homework-friendly. Contain in there all the essentials like papers, pencils and other stuff. Best to keep the area distraction-free for a productive day. Second is to establish a schedule that suits your toddler well. What do you think about enrolling your kids in an all-girls or all-boys school? :)

studied co-ed and all-girls schools before and I can say that enrolling your kids to an exclusive school is fine. their mental, emotional and social skills will still be honed. :)

How do you guys deal with your child if he or she starts making friends with the naughty or more troublesome kids in school?

You cannot do much except if he child's behaviour is drastically changing for the bad, you can tell the teacher that you think the kids that he is spending time in school are way naughty and he is picking things from them and you would like her to make him sit with the kids so that he makes new friends.

What can I do to trick my 2.5-year-old toddler into walking longer distances?

Praising your child for walking can go a long way. I always try to appreciate my kid's efforts whenever he is walking. Also to make her walking experience more enjoyable, I keep talking to her about the day or sing her favorite poem with her or just keep asking her to point out different objects (like tree, flowers, birds), shapes or colors, etc. :)
