Anxious before dating scan

Is it normal to feel extremely worried and anxious before your first dating scan ? Anyone in the same shoe or is it just me. Can't stop worrying .

Me! I am really worried, primarily because this is my second pregnancy, but first one ended with a miscarriage. Worried if there will be heartbeat.

Switch back to subsidized from private after bb is born

Hi Mummies, anyone here 1) switch from subsidized to private when approaching delivery so to stay in A ward and then 2) after discharge from hospital switch back to subsidized again? Just get referral letter from polyclinic to be under subsidized route right? Anything to note?

I think you can only switch to subsidize if your baby is admitted to SCN or NICU. That’s what happened to my twins. On day of admission i chose B1 class which is private then my twins got admitted to SCN and KKH asked if i want to downgrade them to C class. But otherwise any follow ups with your gynae will continue as private patient.

Vagina infection

HI mummy, I received a call from KKH on being positive for Gardnerella Vaginalis (after having brown discharge and done a vaginal swab and was also prescribed with Utrogesta). When I went down to the clinic, The doctor answer was like very vague , he said this is common and has no impact to the baby and even after eating, it will not be 100% cured, I can still be positive for GV. If the brown discharge is bothering me , I can eat the pills. Then, what's the point of eating anti biotic? I am just afraid it will harm the baby.

How do you get over fear of giving birth?

This is not my 1st but i am still scared. Epidural is a no for me due to health reasons. Any tips on how to better manage pain during labour?

Every mummy would feel the same way for every birth journey because you don't know what to expect in labour. May or may not be the way you want it to be. As much as we want it to be smooth, it can also be difficult and nerve wrecking. Esp if we are not dilating fast enough. I took epidural for the first, hopefully this second I dont have to. We just have to trust our mother instinct, be calm at all times, breathing technic must be right and screaming as you push will definitely drain your energy out. If you force your body to push baby out or you are in panic mode, baby will feel the same way and hence, causing all our birth journey fails. Most importantly spouse plays a part to give words of encouragement and helping you as well. All the best to you ❤

Do people still have sex in the last trimester?

I am at week 36. Can we still have sex?

Nope it is not harmful to have sex in third trimester. Indeed it is very helpful esp if you are near to EDD.

To get referral to hospital

Hi can I check, if I go polyclinic for checkup to get referral for hospital, how long will it take for us to get the referral date?

any for nuh referral?
