Lonely pregnancy

In my 3rd trimester now. Through out the pregnancy, do you guys ever feel lonely ? It’s a different kind of lonely feeling. No matter how many people are around you, you just feel lonely and like you’re in this journey by yourself. Yes, your husband is around you but sometimes they dont feel or understand what we feel or what we’re going through. To them, we women are built to be pregnant. Not thinking we are also normal human being and also a first time mom, and new to this. The people around you are more to looking forward to the delivery of the baby, but never ask about the mummy’s mental health or condition. If they are ok, if they are coping. And when baby’s born, theyre gonna claim themself as oh im the aunt oh im the grandma etc etc when they have never been there for you throughout your pregnancy. #FTM

I feel like my hubby was supportive during my pregnancy, but after I popped, he bochup and sometimes forget he is a daddy already and has to do some "baby duties"

Pain on right side

Recently I’ve been having these random sudden intense pain radiating from the right side of my belly (near the belly button). Seems like it’s always on the same spot but I’m not sure what is it. It can last as short as 5 mins but ytd I was in pain for the whole night when I lay on my side. Any other mummies experienced the same before? I’m at my 26w now :\

Someone in my mum group mentioned this before, and a few of them said it turned out to be round ligament pain, where the ligaments supporting your growing uterus stretch and cause those sudden sharp, stabbing spasms near the belly button or right hip area. The tricky part is that round ligament pain usually passes quickly, so when yours lasted the whole night, that's the bit that would make me a little more cautious, it could also be dehydration or your uterus putting pressure on surrounding organs as baby grows. Most mums found it manageable once they knew what it was, but a pain that intense and prolonged really deserves a proper check rather than guessing.

Which female Gynae in TMC would you recommend?

Dr Pamela Tan or Dr Judy Wong

Both are well-regarded at TMC, so it really comes down to what matters most to you. Dr Pamela Tan is known for being calm and compassionate, and she has a subspecialty in colposcopy and vulval disease, so if you have any complex concerns she's quite well-equipped. Dr Judy Wong brings over 20 years of experience and has a strong following too, which speaks for itself. A friend of mine went with Dr Pamela Tan and said she felt very informed throughout her pregnancy, which counts for a lot especially in the first trimester. Honestly, both seem solid, I'd say check their availability and see whose consultation style you connect with better.

Hi at which week in pregnancy did you or are you scheduled for anatomy scan? Anyone had one as early as 19 weeks? Or all strictly after 20 weeks?

I did mine at 19w5d. Everything can be seen clearly

am at 20 weeks now, anyone requested to wfh at 20 weeks? and if boss rejects ur wfh, can ask doctor give HL?

20 weeks most Gynae won't give HL. too early.

Swollen lymph node after whooping cough vaccine

I got my whooping cough vaccine on my left arm last 2 days at KKH. The injection side still a little sore and today i developed a swollen lymph node on my left collarbone. Just a slight/moderate pain not intense. Other than that, no fever etc. I didnt experience this when i had my flu vaccine. Is this normal ? #FTM

I really feel you on this, being a first-time mum and noticing something new and unexpected after a vaccine is genuinely unsettling. A bit of soreness at the injection site is pretty common, but the swollen lymph node near the collarbone is something I would not just brush off, since it is a little further from the injection spot. I think it would be good to bring this up with your doctor or the team at KKH, just to be safe and get some peace of mind. They will be able to tell you whether it is a normal immune response or if it needs a closer look.

Lost trust in public hospitals. Any recs for private hosp pro natural?

Hi for various reasons I have completely lost trust in both KKH and NUH. NUH is absurd that you can never reach the clinic jade no matter if you call everyday. They don't even bother to reply emails or get back to your enquiries. Even if something is urgent, complete ignorance. I've never felt more stress in my life and patience tested to this extent. KKH, twice my nipt results have come back with no results with no proper explanation given as to why the no results. I'm looking for a private gynae in private hospital that is pro natural. My only concern of private hospital is that they will push you for c sec cos they can earn more by that. Of course I'm ok with c sec if it's REALLY necessary but not if it can be managed. I know this is like looking for a needle in haystack. #pleasehelp #advicepls #FTM #firsttimemom

I heard you will get different gynae at every visit for public hospital. Not sure about the waiting time. But I’m sure I wanted the same gynae yo see me through this entire journey so he understands all my concerns. I’m at TMC.

Looking for affordable counselling session. I'm almost going to be 6months pregnant and my boyfriend decided to leave me. No doubts I have alot of support from family, friends and colleagues but I can't control my emotions. Have been thinking and crying alot and I know it's not good for me and baby. Would appreciate if anyone can recommend a good counsellor at an affordable cost Thank you

Pls call Pasir Ris Family Service Centre at 6581 2159. I have been attending counselling with them for years and it helped save my marriage.

KKH Private patient

Ill be changing to private gynae on my 35th week, anyone knows for kkh private patient will there be scans for all appointments 35th week onwards? Or only certain appointment? #FTM

yes private pat always will have scan.
