Contraction after birth

Is it true that we’ll still get contraction pains post birth cs our uterus is shrinking ? If yes, is the pain that bad and how long will it usually last ? #FTM

Hello mummy, I have Csect, and I have contraction pain too.. especially when I pee or poop. Not a everyday thingy. Pain is like menstrual cramp.

Thyroid during pregnancy.

Hi Mummies! How do you deal with thyroid during pregnancy? My hair fall is unexplainable. :(

I really feel you on this, thyroid issues during pregnancy can be so overwhelming especially when you start seeing so much hair fall and do not know why. Please do not worry alone with this, it is really important to bring this up with your gynae or PD as soon as you can so they can check your thyroid levels properly. Many mummies go through this and with the right care and monitoring it can be managed well throughout your pregnancy. You are not alone in this, and getting the right medical support early really does make a big difference.

Average Weight for 29 weeks baby ?

Is 1.6kg for a 29 weeks baby consider ok?

Need to control diet (especially reduce sugar intake etc white rice and sweet drinks) as the baby is considered overweight.

PPROM - Amniotic fluid leak

Hi mummies, I am at 22 weeks now and experienced amniotic fluid leak a week ago. Last check of my AFI was still high at 9.3cm and the leaks seems to stop for a few days already. I am currently admitted to KKH. What is the chances of me getting discharged? Am worry that I have to be admitted until I deliver my baby :( #1stpregnacy

May I know what was the outcome? I'm facing the same issue.

Hello! FTM here! Has anyone delivered with Dr. Ng Kai Lyn before? I’m considering to have her as my delivering gynae so would like to hear some of your experiences! Was your delivery natural or csec?

I really feel you on this, choosing your delivering gynae is such a big decision especially as a FTM. I don't have personal experience with Dr. Ng Kai Lyn myself, but a friend of mine delivered under her care and said she was very calm and reassuring throughout the whole process, which really helped my friend feel at ease. My friend had a natural delivery and felt that Dr. Ng was patient and communicated clearly at every step, so she came away feeling well supported. It might also be worth checking the Asian Parent reviews section or some of the local mum Facebook groups as there tend to be more detailed writeups there lah. Hope you find the right fit for you, all the best for your pregnancy!

Chest discomfort

Is it normal to feel cheat discomfort and short of breath during the first trimester?

Yep. I was surprised by how breathless I was even though I hadn't gained much weight then. It's the increase in blood volume causing the breathlessness. As the baby gets bigger, your uterus will starting pushing upwards against your lungs, causing even more breathlessness. So take it easy ya.

Eating dates for labor

Read alot that eating dates (6 pieces/day or so) will help shorten labor. Any mummies tried this and works ? #FTM
