Intermediate risk for down syndrome

Hi mummies. Im at 12w 6 days and just went for a downsyndrome test. My result is 1:445 which is intermediate risk but im quite worried. anybody has ever such result but baby turned out normal and healthy? Thank you. Also just to rant a bit, the sonographer was very rough & made me worry unnecessarily as she keeps saying n sighing when she couldn’t detect the nasa bone. Made me very worried n uncomfortable in that room 😢#advicepls #pleasehelp #firstbaby #pregnancy

Consider taking NIPT. It’s more accurate.

Thick Nuchal Translucency (NT) in week 13.

I have just screened with 2.9mm NT which is beyond 97th percentile. Does KKH Harmony test results override First Trimester Screening on having a thick NT? I was advised to wait for Week 20 to do another scan. Meanwhile is there anything I can do for now?

2.9mm sounds borderline. Did u do a blood test? Also, did they detect a nasal bone on the ultrasound?

Unable to pay hospital bills ?

Hello Mummies! Am going to deliver in TMC - 4bedded, natural w epidural (hopefully) in a few weeks time. Was wondering regarding hospital bills... if we are unable to pay the hospital bills, due to emergency c-sec / unforeseen medical issues etc etc., what are our options ? We tried asking TMC but no replies from them... My apologies if this is a dumb question as I'm not very sure on this... Thank u! #firsttimemom

37 weeks and worried baby is breech

Hi, im quite worried that my baby is breech because my tummy is weirdly shaped like as tho baby is in transverse position. And the kicking are all over the place. This is my 3rd pregnancy but i kinda feel like its a bit diff eventho i can’t really recall if this is normal. My last scan at 32weeks were all ok. And there wont be anymore scans after this as mine is subsidised SGH. Did anyone go thru the same as me and baby really breech?? Will the doc try to turn the baby? TIA

I felt the same too! My bump was sideways? But nope baby still head down! Cause my gynae told me once theyre head down, they wont really turn any other way cause no mote space. And yes mine kicks here and there!

obstetric assessment centre @ kkh

anyone's appt is at obstetric assessment centre when u are 39-40 weeks? what is the purpose of going there? I thought it is for preggy ladies who have GD or in high risk? TIA!!

From my experience, at 39-40 weeks they sometimes send you to the Obstetric Assessment Centre just to do a closer check on baby's position, heartbeat, and to assess if you are progressing toward labour, not necessarily because something is wrong. It does cater to higher risk cases but also routine late-term monitoring, so try not to worry too much lah, it is quite common at that stage. I would just call KKH directly to confirm what your specific appointment is for so you go in feeling prepared.

Travelling at 7 months

Hi mummies! Have you travelled overseas at 7 months pregnant? I want to go on a baby moon in late January, but my gynae can only give me an answer during my next appt in early January. But by then I'm sure the flight tickets will be expensive 😔 what are the chances of me getting on a plane then? And were you feeling too heavy by then to be moving around? Thanks for your answers mummies!

just travelled to Bali for 4d3n at 31w!! also flew budget and the 2.5h flight was manageable, though sitting too long is quite tiring!

9 weeks and baby has no heartbeat

Hi, I am suppose to be 11 weeks today but yesterday we went for our checkup and the gynae told us that the baby stop growing at 9 weeks and there's no more heartbeat. The doctor gave us 2 options, the pill or the operation. Will these affect the fertility or the womb after ? Should I seek for a second opinion ?

Water retention

Hi mummies, is it normal to get water retention in 2nd trimester? I am in my week 19 now.. #ftm

I’m on my 27th week and no water retention til now. You must be eating a lot of salty food or you drink too much water (more than 2L/day) Avoid salt and water intake should be 2L only per day. Also, do a leg raise when you get home.
