Help! BCG injection site

My baby is 4month. Her BCG injection site is still red and sometimes bleeds a little. Is there anything I can do? Can I apply anything to help speed up the healing? I apply kids friendly plaster before giving her a bath. #pleasehelp #firsttimemom #FTM

Baby bath tub stand

Do we really need to buy the stand for baby’s bath tub ? Or can just use the bath tub on the toilet floor? Which one is more practical and advisable ?

I use stokke tub with stand, so far so good. Save my back and legs muscles from bending and squatting down.

Rashes on my baby all over the body

Baby bath after or before feed

Hi mummies, for morning and night bath/wipe down, do we do it before or after baby drink milk? If after, is it immediately after burping or after half an hour or so ? And if baby sleep after feed, do we wake them up for shower ? #FTM

For newborns i prefer to bathe baby before feed so tt he can slp right away aft feed.

Machine wash baby clothes

Hi mummies, do you just use washing machine for baby clothes ? If yes, if theres like some leftover detergent around the washing machine or the place we put the detergent from our normal adult detergent, will that be ok for baby? #FTM

I use washing machine. Not sure if there is leftover detergent but i will just use my ger’s detergent to wash hers. I mean tats what we do even when she was younger

I really feel you on this, it must feel so overwhelming navigating this for your little one. I don't have personal experience with ARSA specifically, but I think the most important thing right now is to stay closely connected with your child's PD or the specialist team at KKH, as they will be the best ones to guide you on what follow-up checks are needed and how often. You might also want to ask if there is a patient support coordinator at the hospital who can walk you through the process, because sometimes just having someone explain the next steps clearly makes a big difference. Hang in there, you are already doing the right thing by asking and seeking support.

Cooled boiled water to clean baby

Hi mummies, for cleaning of baby’s umbilical cord, face, bump, etc, instead of boiling water and let it cool every usage, can we boil water, let it cool, and store in a spray bottle for multiple usage ? ##FTM

I just use tap/water dispenser (warm). No issues on baby’s skin.

Yellow pus behind the ear

Hi mummies, my baby has this yellow discharge at the back of her ear, any mummy encountered this before? TIA!

Oh I really feel you on this, it can be so worrying when we notice something unusual on our little ones. Please do bring her to see a doctor soon, as yellow discharge like that really needs a proper check-up to be sure she is okay. You are doing the right thing by asking around, but a doctor's assessment is the safest next step for your precious girl.

What essential needs to prepare for newborn

new mummy here 28 weeks preggo, what are the essentials needed to prp for newborn ? And for clothing should buy x2 bigger ?

Buy romper for day time wear, drawstrings mittens and booties (adjustable purpose, my baby has small wrists and ankles so normal elastic ones didn’t work very well on her), sleepingsuits with built in mittens and booties, diapers, nappy cream, 2in1 hair and body wash, bathing tub, milk bottles and pacifier, bottle detergent, thermometer, underpads (very useful during diaper change), cotton balls, towels, bibs, baby laundry detergent, baby sleeping cot/yaolan/floor bed/lounger/bouncer, baby carrier/stroller/car seat. Personally, I find that 5 pieces of daywear romper and sleepingsuits are sufficient.

Blister like bumps on 3 weeks old baby

Hi, my 3 weeks old is suddenly having these blister like bumps on his thigh, one on feet, one on back.. anyone faced the same before and if it is normal baby acne etc? Thank u

Oh dear, I really feel for you, it must be so worrying to see those bumps on your little one, especially at just 3 weeks old. Please bring baby to see a doctor as soon as possible, because blisters on a newborn that young need to be checked by a professional right away and this is really not something to wait on. You are doing the right thing by reaching out, but a doctor needs to see those bumps in person to know what is going on.
