Forehead very dry

My newborn seems to be having very dry skin/peeling on its forehead and in between eyes, should i leave it or put on moisturizer? What cream should i use? He’s a month old I have mustela face cream, should i use it ?

Can I drink Bubble tea, especially green tea

Hi, I usually drink Bubble tea every alternate day, my go to is liho green tea. I'm in my 5-6 weeks now, is it safe to drink? Can I still drink it with pearls? Thanks!

Please drink moderately. Pearl has lots of sugar which can cause GD

Baby stomach growling

Hi mummies! My newborn is turning 1 month tomorrow.. is it normal if stomach growls when drinking milk and after milk? Anyone facing similar symptoms? #firsttimemom

This is actually quite common in newborns since their digestive system is still maturing, so the growling sounds are usually just the gut getting used to processing milk. My girl had the same thing around that age and our PD said as long as baby is feeding well, gaining weight, and not unusually fussy or gassy, there is generally nothing to worry about. That said, if you notice baby seems really uncomfortable or is crying a lot after feeds, it is worth bringing up at your next polyclinic visit just to rule anything out. The one-month check is coming up soon for you anyway, so good timing to mention it to the doctor then.

Baby vomiting out milk constantly

Whats the possible reasons baby vomited out milk? Either minutes or an hour after milk or while feeding. Baby on full formula, 80ml for 1 month old, using lactogen 1 since birth @ KKH & using avent natural 0 teat. Recently past few days or a week he has been vomiting out milk back. Not just spitting but vomit. He’s pooping fine, always fart, he’s always burped, stomach is not hard, and still gaining weight. I assume. As he’s weighing 4.4kg. Any reason why he could be doing this? No fever whatsoever. previously we tried to decrease the milk intake to 60ml or lower but still the same, and if we decrease he would still cry for milk and show hungry cues. Even when now feeding 80ml sometimes he’s still hungry and not full. Yet always vomit out. His next doc appt is only next week. #FTM

80ml sounds alright for 1 month old. Sounds like reflux. Try not to sit him up too quickly after a feed. Maintain 45deg for about 3 mins then sit him up for 20 mins burping. If this still doesn’t work, check with Pd if it’s milk allergy or any other reason.

Unused baby food

Hi, I have some baby food like brown rice cereal (powder type) and gerber baby cereal, which my boy not taking anymore. What can I do with them? Both left 1/4 of it

Eh, since both are already opened and only 1/4 left, donating might be tricky, food banks here generally prefer sealed, unopened items for hygiene reasons, so that option is probably better saved for next time if you have a full unopened tin. For what you have now, someone in my mum group mentioned using the plain brown rice cereal as a thickener in meatballs or meatloaf, apparently it works really well since it's not sweet, while the Gerber (if it's the sweeter kind) can go into muffin batter or even a crumbly topping for a fruit crisp. If your boy is still young enough, baby cereal pancakes are another option that a few mums swear by, just mix it into regular pancake batter and it stretches the cereal out nicely. Honestly, the baking route seems the most practical for opened portions, less waste, and you get something the whole family can eat.

Sore throat or HFMD

Hi parents, can I check with you all, is this normal sore throat or HFMD? My girl told me that her throat pain vy painful in the evening, but now she said a bit painful only. Any mummy knows about it? Please share more with me thanks in advance.

It is best if you go to the GP to consult if this is HFMD and they will inform you. Different kids will have different symptoms of HFMD.

Dont feel the bond with baby even after a month

Is it normal that even after a month, i dont feel the bond with my baby at all? And i dont feel that love towards my baby? Im not sure if its because of the post partum blues or the pain that im still feeling after csection. I also feel like i still cannot move on from the fact that i had to go thru emergency csection and im still not recovering even after a month. maybe one of the reason why i dont feel that kind of love towards my baby. Mainly cause i am in still in pain? Im scared i wont feel at all even after months. Is there something wrong with me ? And yes during the first month my husband handles the baby mostly, if not, my MIL. But now both has started working, im feeling very stressed with baby around.

Hey mummy , u are not alone as I went thru similar thing . It’s mainly due to hormones. I started questioning myself why I had such feeling but once you overcome ur postpartum blue, u will love your baby very much . Skin to skin and more breastfeeding will help😉
