Unused baby food

Hi, I have some baby food like brown rice cereal (powder type) and gerber baby cereal, which my boy not taking anymore. What can I do with them? Both left 1/4 of it

Eh, since both are already opened and only 1/4 left, donating might be tricky, food banks here generally prefer sealed, unopened items for hygiene reasons, so that option is probably better saved for next time if you have a full unopened tin. For what you have now, someone in my mum group mentioned using the plain brown rice cereal as a thickener in meatballs or meatloaf, apparently it works really well since it's not sweet, while the Gerber (if it's the sweeter kind) can go into muffin batter or even a crumbly topping for a fruit crisp. If your boy is still young enough, baby cereal pancakes are another option that a few mums swear by, just mix it into regular pancake batter and it stretches the cereal out nicely. Honestly, the baking route seems the most practical for opened portions, less waste, and you get something the whole family can eat.
