Which formula is better for infants? Similac, Nan or S26?

My 19-days old has been drinking Similac but I’m thinking of trying either Nan or S26. Standard wise, which one is better & most commonly used? Also, any opinions on the mentioned formulas? #postnatal #Needadvice #AskingAsAMom #askmommies

I was told if baby is doing fine best not to switch the brand of formula. If baby having issues with the formula being used then can consider to change the brand.

Amount Of Milk Baby Should Be Drinking

Hi Mummies, currently my bb is at week 6 and drinking 90ml-110ml. Wanted to adjust to 120ml few days ago but doc said we're overfeeding him (?) we should be feeding 80 - 90ml. He mentioned bb is gaining weight normally in the 50% percentile. (Pretty conflicting statements). Wondering what's the actual amount bb should be drinking at this week & when do we increase the amount? He's currently at 90ml feeding within 2½-3hrs. #Needadvice #firsttimemom

If you want to increase, gradual do so every 10ml. In this way you will not over feed him. See his cue also.

IFC vacancy advice

I'm 37 weeks pregnant now. Planning to send my baby to IFC in Jan 2026 when my maternity leave is ending. However, almost all the IFC around my area (and a bit further away) are full and can't give me an estimated length of the waitlist. Only one came back to say their earliest vacancy is in May 2026 and I can pay a deposit to secure the slot. It's not my top choice as it's not as convenient, but I guess no choice cos I'm staying in punggol 🙃 Not sure if I should secure the slot in May as that means I have to find an alternative between Jan-May. And if another nearer IFC has vacancy before that I would definitely switch so not sure if it's "fair" to "chope". Are the IFC just waiting for me to update my child's birth cert details before opening up slots for us? What's the likelihood of being able to enrol my child in another IFC before May.. Feeling anxious as a #firsttimemom appreciate any advice!

Big small eyes.

Hi, mommies. My third born have big small eyes. Is it normal? Will it be the same as he grow older? Thank you.

Aww baby’s eyes still look very young and newborn-ish to me 😊 Sometimes one eye can look smaller because of swelling, eyelid folds, angle, or babies not fully opening both eyes equally yet. A lot changes as they grow! But if one eye is consistently much smaller, droopy, doesn’t open properly, has discharge, or baby seems not to track/react well with that eye, then better mention it during baby checkup just to be safe 🙏🏻 Otherwise many babies’ features change A LOT over the first year 😅 My baby looked completely different after a few months haha.

Breast painful😔

Lately my breasts have started to feel really engorged and painful, and it’s been so uncomfortable. I heard that using a breast pump can help relieve the pain and also prevent clogged ducts. I’m thinking about getting one, but there are so many brands out there and I’m a bit overwhelmed 😅. Mamas, could you share your experience? Which brand of breast pump do you think is the most cost-effective? Is it comfortable to use and easy to clean? I really hope to find one that’s practical without being too expensive.

I had trouble keeping my Baby Express hands-free set in the right position, and would spend 20 minutes only to realize that not a single drop of bm was pumped! i also find the tiny parts tedious to wash and assemble. I am using Spectra Compact and have no complaints with it. I experienced pain in my breasts when I was pumping exclusively though, but should be fine if you are using it once in a while. agree with LB that flange size is important. should be the size of your nipple (not areola), plus an additional few mm as buffer. as for clogged ducts, you might also want to standby lecithin to thin out the milk fats in case the pump you eventually buy could not clear them well.

hi mommies i need opinion. my daughter always cries when being held by grandma. she's so sad and think my daughter hates her... tried to give her understanding but not work

Maybe your baby is just more attached to familiar people or sensitive to different ways of being held. Babies go through phases like this a lot, and it doesn’t mean she hates grandma at all 🥺 Sometimes babies cry because: * grandma smells/sounds unfamiliar * different holding style * separation anxiety phase * baby is tired/hungry/overstimulated Tell grandma not to take it personally. Usually it gets better slowly with more gentle interaction, playtime, talking, or letting baby warm up first before carrying. Forcing it often makes baby cry harder.

Hey mummies my 1 year old accident fall from the bed. She seems fine cried for awhile. Feeling really guilty...is there anything to notice after the fall?

Check if she vomits abnormally and if she complains of any discomfort or pain. Otherwise i think she’s ok.

20 months hit me and don't want me

My 20 months baby started to hit me whenever he is angry and when things don't get on his way, and he no longer want me to acc him to sleep anymore. I used to be his go-to person. This happened 1 month plus after I gave birth to my 2nd baby. He seems to condemn me now. Will push me away at night when I try to pat him. My 2nd baby is abit fussy at night and will often wake my firstborn with her loud cry. So now my husband will tc and sleep with first born in our room, and I will tc of our 2nd baby in another room. Is this the reason why my first born distance from me? Any one have the same issue? I felt so disheartened. #AskingAsAMom #tiredmom #Needadvice

Awww mama this is actually very common after a new baby arrives 🥺 Toddlers at this age don’t know how to process jealousy yet, so they act out by hitting/pushing away. It doesn’t mean he stopped loving you ❤️ The sleeping arrangement change might affect him too since suddenly mummy is always with baby 😭 Usually it improves with time + small one-on-one moments with him again. Even 10 mins daily can help alot 🙏🏻
