Epidural side effects?

I’m going for natural delivery with epidural. Will be due in about 2 weeks or so. But reading about the immediate side effects is making me think twice. Not so scared of the needle going into the spine part but more afraid of the immediate side effects like shivering and vomiting as mentioned by many mommies. Any mommies went through epidural without any shivering or vomiting at all? #FTM #pleasehelp

I had twice of epidural. No shivering or vomitting. Bottom down numb, slight ever, rashes that's all. This happened when the epidural inserted. After awhile it will be normal. However, some people will face a high temp of fever during this process.

Post delivery massage

Hi anyone do tubal ligation? What do u feel after having it? Any pain ? any discomfort ? I had my 4th caesarean recently together with the ligation. Im not sure if this pain im having is the wound or from the ligation..

Baby getting heavier - induce or not?

My baby is getting heavier week by week , gynae never suggest to induce. He say see next week when i hit 40 weeks how. Should i be worried? Bb weight at 3,2kg

My first was at 3.2kg. I only induced because there were no progress after giving a grace period of 1 week after EDD and at 3cm dilate. Therefore I decide to induce at 41 weeks. But the labour process was about 17 hr +/- Maybe you can see what's the process at 40 weeks.

Postpartum anxiety

Hi I am a first time mom and I am experiencing postpartum anxiety. I am worried I don't know how to take care of my newborn and I get flustered when she cries. There is a confinement nanny to help me but I am worried I can't cope by myself if I were to take care of baby alone at home. Taking care and bringing up a child is very new to me. Observe nanny’s way of handling, ask whatever you need to know before she leaves. Get your husband to be involved too so he can help out whenever he’s free. Things will be easier if there are two people at it. Newborn days they basically just sleep and more sleep. Few things they may cry are usually (milk, diapers, gas, needs soothing). After nanny leaves, it’s just the same routine. The hard part is not taking care of your newborn but managing the lack of sleep due to having to pump. I was once in your position, only thing is I don’t have a nanny so I have to learn everything on my own since day 1 which I find that it helps because that way I’m more hands-on. Trust yourself, if you need help and have the help available, use it. Don’t think about things that have yet to happen, don’t overthink (it will only stress you out), take one step at a time. I cried when my confinement is ending because that means my husband won’t be around and it’s just me, turns out, it’s actually not as bad as I thought. Overtime you’ll be able to understand your baby’s cries/cues and schedules, it will get easier and better. 😊

Confinement practices and attire for delivering in Aug

Hi mummies, would like some advice as I would be delivering soon, what are the must do and don't do confinement practices or attires that must be done? As I am a person that is very scare of hot warm weather and always can't do without fan. Appreciate any advices on the attire that can be worn, if fan or aircon can be used etc, can we eat hong zao mian xian for breakfast for normal delivery and intending to try breastfeeding etc? If not engaging those malay lady to massage can we just buy any tummy blind n tie? And how long and tie for how many days? Do we need to apply anything on tummy before the blinding?#pleasehelp #advicepls

Don’t air dry your hair after shower, blow dry. Don’t direct the fan directly at you. I personally wear buttoned outfits for breastfeeding. Short sleeves and shorts for day (fan face upwards/away from you), long sleeves and pants for night (aircon). Yes for the meesua. The binder that Malay massage uses is different and it’s more tighter (you cannot do it yourself because it will be loose) than those Velcro binders. They apply massage oil before binding. My massage lady advises to wear as long as I can tahan (at least 8 hours if I can), best is within the first 2 months. Confinement usually is drink red dates tea but plain water (room temp/warm) works best for boosting my supply. For shower you can get herbs from shopee (daifonai) if you are okay to boil and shower, I personally do without it cause it’s too mafan.

Do you co sleep with your baby?

I have a nursery room with baby crib and my baby sleep in that room now with confinement nanny. I am thinking of co sleeping with my baby by moving her crib in my master bedroom when the confinement nanny leaves us in 1 week's time. however, I am worried that i may disturb my hubby sleep during midnight when I feed the baby or the baby cannot get used to my room (co sleep with me). Should I continue to let baby sleep by her own in her nursery and feed her in the nursery instead ? I worried she is alone by herself in the nursery while I sleep in my room.#advicepls #FTM

baby will get used to your room eventually, it’s even easier when they are younger.

August mummies - anyone giving birth yet?

Hi mummies - anyone giving birth yet? Share your experience please and what makes u go ahead with natural or c sect delivery? I am currently 38 weeks 3 days. Initially i wanted to go for natural but seems like i wont be ready for the pain haha so now dilemma if i should do c sect.. even had dream about it😢 in my dream i was in bloody red room while they cut my down there. So scary😡 My gynae is dr adrian w , he leaves it to me whether i wanna do natural or c sect but i have to decide by tml if i wanna do c sect😱😱 I hv been experiencing tighten belly sometimes with back pain and pressure in pelvic for past few days and it is very uncomfortable- likely braxton hicks or maybe early labour idk

go natural If you can, cheaper and easier to heal.
