Hi there! FTM here .. im currently 31 weeks with twins . Doctor told me birth for twins is usually between 36/37 weeks. Im not sure when I should start taking ML then since initially wanted to take 2 weeks before EDD. Any suggestions? 🥲 My job is desk bound

Hi, there! You could try to get HL from your gynae in the 2 weeks beforehand so you can start your ML after giving birth 🤭 My job is very physically strenuous (infant care teacher) so I plan to ask my gynae for HL before I take my ML.

Anyone experience iron deficiency and gynae recommended iron transfusion at week 35?

Me ! Gynae informed if after taking oral pill and my blood is still low , will have to do iron transfusion . Taking my blood test next week , hopefully there’s improvement to my blood count 🥲

Hi, I am 31 weeks currently. I am still under subsidised route. Wanted to check if anyone is in the same situation as me. Since my first ever KKH appointment , I was always seen by the same gynae and not once was a different gynae. Initially planned to change to private once i reach 28 weeks. Looking at it now is there a chance my gynae stays the same till birth? (Was told by most of my friends that when they were in subsidised, every appointment was always a diff gynae)

I think you're quite lucky actually, because most of us do get rotated through different gynaes in the subsidised route. But it really depends on your gynae's schedule and the hospital's roster system at that point, so there's no guarantee she'll stay till your delivery even if you've seen her consistently so far. If having the same gynae is really important to you, switching to private might still be the safer bet to lock her in, but if you're happy with your current care and budget is a concern, you could always ask your gynae directly at your next appointment what her schedule looks like closer to your due date.

Weight gain and loss

Hi. I'm currently pregnant 2nd time but this time I only gain almost 4kg despite being in my 3rd trimester. My previous pregnancy I gained 20kg. Is this normal? Even baby estimation weight is very low

while weight gain can vary between pregnancies, gaining only 4kg by 3rd trimester... your gynae can better monitor & offer guidance 🙏💕

18 weeks and 2 days, and base on ultrasound it is breech position. Anybody the same with me?

Whooping cough n flu vaccine.

Does anyone never take both vaccines during pregnancy? Still wondering if I should opt for it or not . Doctor recommended but still 50/50 on it.

I didn’t take any (I’m scared of needles), LO is full term and healthy.

I'm 32 weeks pregnant. Does anyone here experience random palpitations too?? It's been 3 days since I noticed it. I don't drink coffee btw

same here! i start to have it at 25 weeks or might be earlier. during consultation the docs said it’s normal for as long blood pressure is normal as well.

Recommendation for Gynae at KKH

Hi mummies! I am currently 28 weeks and has plan to switch to private at KKH. Any Gynae recommendations? Thanks!

I switched to KKH private at around the same stage with my second, and honestly it really depends on what matters most to you lah - some mums prioritise someone very hands-on during labour, others want someone who's more relaxed and lets you lead. I'd suggest calling KKH's private maternity line to ask about the different gynaes and their approach, or check if any of your friends have delivered there recently and can give you direct feedback on who they saw. That way you get a sense of their bedside manner before committing, which I think is quite important for the home stretch of pregnancy.

Please don’t self medicate during pregnancy! Go to a doctor, inform the doctor you’re currently pregnant and he/she will prescribe you pregnancy safe medication.
