Water Retention

I’m 25 weeks pregnant today and starting to feel the water retention on both hands and legs. Anyone knows how to tackle this issue? My legs get itchy and lack of blood flow at night, whereas both my hands feel sore throughout the day :(

Drink more water, take less sodium. Elevate your legs when you lie/sit.

What to do when your 3 yrs old can’t speak properly My 3 yrs old can speak but not fluent , can’t pronounce word properly and his cousin turn 2 yrs old more fluent than my son . What can I do to help him and where can I enrol him / bring see special therapist. TIA

if he really has speech delay u can bring him go doctor/polyclinic and address ur concerns. but if not maybe a tip, try not to baby talk. but dont worry, maybe he takes a slightly longer time.

Which glass bottles are compatible with Pigeon Softouch teats?

I want to use Pigeon softouch teats and a glass bottle for my LO. However, i understand that Pigeon glass bottles contain lead :( Any other brands that sell glass bottles and are compatible with this teat? Much help appreciated! 🙏🏻 #pigeonsoftouch #glassbottle #lead

Eh, this is such a good question, I actually heard about this from a few mums around me! My friend went to try the Dr Brown brand bottle and she said the Pigeon wide neck bottle top fits on it perfectly, and it's so much cheaper somemore, so she was super happy with that combo! Someone in my mum WhatsApp group also mentioned that as long as the bottle is wide neck, the Pigeon Softouch teat should fit, so that's the key thing to look out for when you're shopping around.

Hello! Does anyone know of any daddy's chatroom that my husband can join? We can't seem to find or if not the link has expired.

Hey there! I've heard that the Singapore Parents Chat group is a pretty active community where dads (and mums) share experiences on everything from pregnancy right through to primary school, so it covers quite a broad range which can be handy. That said, some parents feel a mixed group isn't quite the same as a dads-only space, so it really depends on whether your husband is looking for that specific father-to-father connection or just general parenting support. Might be worth him trying that first to see if the vibe suits him, and if not, keep an eye out because these groups do pop up and links do expire quite often!

21 weeks babymoon walking too much?

I’m currently on my babymoon in Japan and we are walking about 20K steps daily. I do rest when I feel tired but at night my lower tummy area tends to get slight cramps/tightening after a full day of exploring. Is walking too much in 2nd trimester dangerous?

Walking in the second trimester is generally quite safe, and some mums I know kept up high step counts well into late pregnancy without issues, but 20,000 steps daily is on the higher end, and that evening tightening you're describing sounds like it could be round ligament pain, which is your uterus muscles stretching as baby grows, and is pretty common at this stage. The key trade-off is that light cramping from exertion usually settles with rest, but if the tightening becomes rhythmic, more intense, or doesn't ease off after you sit down, that's worth taking more seriously. My friend was also quite active during her second trimester trip and her advice was to break the walking into shorter stretches with proper sit-down rest in between, rather than long continuous hours on your feet, which seemed to help with that end-of-day heaviness. So enjoying your babymoon at a slightly gentler pace, maybe mixing in more café stops, could give you the best of both worlds without pushing your body too hard each day. That said, since the cramping is happening consistently, it's really worth dropping a message to your gynae or doctor just to get their read on it for your specific pregnancy.

Hi mommies any advice on what to do ? my stomach has been hurting for the past few hours and the pain hasn’t subside or anytg, it’s definitely not poo or gas becos i tried gg to the toilet alrdy. i feel really discomfort and im at 22+2. baby has also been kicking a lot of intense .

Please don't wait on this one, go to A&E or your maternity ward now, because persistent stomach pain that doesn't ease plus intense baby movements at 22 weeks is something the doctors need to check in person. It could be a few different things, some more urgent than others, so it's really better to get assessed properly than to guess at home.

Read that it is not advisable to use chemical sunscreen during pregnancy and to opt for physical sunscreen instead. Anybody can share which physical sunscreen brand safe to use? Tks!

Changing from Kkh sub to NUH private after week 20

Anyone has experience to share on this? Thinking of switching to NUH private, for caecaran. It's more convenient to travel to NUH by cab and heard that NUH is better than KKH.

Not really, but heard from the doctors circle previously that KKH is most equipped with handling all pregnancy related issues.
