When can I stop worrying about SIDS (sudden infant death syndrome)?

When your baby turns 12 months old. However, I believe as babies grow up and can control their bodies more, they are less likely to suffocate. My baby recently loves to sleep on her tummy but I make sure that her cot does not have any hazardous material or soft bedding which may potentially suffocate her. I also use a mesh cot bumper.
