Ultrasound Scans

Hi, what is the normal number of ultrasound scans during pregnancy? I was asked to go for 2 scans in my first trimester (8+ week and 11+ week). Is that considered too many? How many scans can I expect for the 2nd and 3rd trimesters?

Had it at 8 weeks (first appt) then next is 12 weeks. It is also case to case basis. Everybody is different.
