What are the different ways to burp my newborn?

I find that holding my baby upright is a very good way to get her to burp. The air bubbles in her tummy rise up and out of her mouth when I do that as compared to burping her in a prone position.

One is to put baby's head over your shoulder and pat his back. Another is to do a football hold and carry your baby belly down on your arm and pat his back.
