Sleepy newborn baby

My newborn baby girl was super alert right after I delivered her, but since then she now sleeps a lot and I find it tough to wake her up to eat, or bond with me or play. Is this normal for newborn baby’s to be soo sleepy?

Newborns till 2-3 months sleep alot mummy! They only wake up for feeds. You can wake baby up for a feed by unswaddling her or gently poke her cheeks and ears. You can still do skin to skin while baby is sleeping or latching. Gradually they will wake up more and want to engage in play and tummy time. 😊 rest as much as you can

normal for nb. basically they just sleep drink and sleep. it's only later stage you get to play with baby now is all about sleep

newborn sleep almost 23 hrs a day. its perfectly normal. when she grows up u wish she sleep more 🤣 dont worry mummy 💕

Newborns should get 14–17 hours of sleep daily

As long as she feeds at least every 2-3 hours.
