My baby is going to be 1 month old in a few days. She has not been pooing for more than 48 hours, although I can see that she is trying. However, she has been eating and sleeping well. Confinement lady says it is normal cos I had taken lots of tonic and that as baby is taking breastmilk, she is following my heatiness. Regardless, I'm really worried. What can be wrong with her? Shall I take her to see doctor?

She's not heaty she fully absorbed your breastmilk which is why there is nothing to poop. However if you see her trying too hard or crying when about to poop it could be constipation. Look at her poop and see if it's like stones. Regular poop even when on herbs should be pasty and seedy. If constipation occurs just need to give her some probiotics.

For breastfed baby don't be alarmed if your baby has a bowel movement only once a week. She is not constipated unless her stools are hard and dry. http://www.llli.org/faq/bm.html

No worries. Breastfed babies can go for days without pooping, though its more common in formula fed babies.
